Empire Total War Heaven: On the Battlefield, Ready to Serve
Posted by General_II on December 30th, 2008 @ 11:01 p.m.
Based on the popular reaction to the revolutionary Total War titles, the Total War heavens have been informing and entertaining fans since 2005. Community support, input, and dedication from staff have played a key role in establishing the success of these heavens amid the releases of the game titles, expansions, and mods.

Empire: Total War Heaven (ETWH) represents the culmination of the years of experience gained from these previous Total War Heavens. Staffed by members of these communities, ETWH promises to deliver informative, insightful content using a new site format that's ease of use is trumped only by how well it is designed.

Bear in mind that ETWH is best viewed through up-to-date browsers. The site designer, Zen, tells us that "the site will work in the following browsers (tested): Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8 Beta, Firefox 3.x, Safari 3.x, and Google Chrome 1.x. The forums will not work in IE6, and everything is centered in Opera. We're working on fixing the issue for Opera. Firefox 2.x reached its end-of-life two weeks ago... For optimal viewing we recommend using IE7+, Firefox 3+, Safari 3+, or Google Chrome."

Regardless of those using un-updated browsers, the site has already exhibited a great deal of activity. ETWH's announcement was far from the typical christening post of the news section. Rather, ETWH has been closely following Empire: Total War updates and has been supported by the Total War community from the second it's virtual doors opened.

Gaius Colinus, the ETWH site director, said in the official announcement that "It's been a long road to get here but I'm very pleased to be able to welcome you to the newest site on the Heavengames network." With dedicated staff and fans, ETWH will certainly be a part of the HeavenGames community for years to come.

Stop by and welcome ETWH.

Posted by CookieCrisp13 on December 19th, 2008 @ 11:09 p.m.

As we all are aware of, the fan patch is out and about. Unfortunately, it is still struggling to gain a foothold among the masses of players. Viper hopes to liven up the field with a tournament!
To help promote the newly released TAD Fan Patch 1.0, AgeSanctuary is proud to announce the $500 Fan Patch 1.0 Tournament. All players will be required to use the new patch, and we hope this will make for some very close and competitive games.

Don't have Fan Patch 1.0? Get it here.

Due to Christmas and New Year's, we will be starting the tournament in 2009. Sign-ups are open until the 6th of January, when the tournament will begin.

Many thanks to matsujun for making this tournament possible with his gracious donation.

MrMilo's Early Game Guide - New Link!
Posted by Cheesewiz on December 13th, 2008 @ 11:15 p.m.
One of our forumers, Artiem, has discovered that RTSprofessional is no longer online, which is sad news, especially because of the wealth of files uploaded there. Fortunately, we have picked up one of their treasures thanks to MrMilo himself.

MrMilo's Early Game Guide teaches you the basics, and the not-so-basics, of getting your game off to the right start. It's a great tool to help you improve your game, and the great tips it contains will be important forever, no matter what the patch or version.

Enjoy!

TAD Fan Patch Released!
Posted by CookieCrisp13 on December 12th, 2008 @ 11:18 p.m.

The guys over at AgeSanctuary have been working particularly hard these past two months on the TAD Fan Patch 1.0 Here is an exerpt from them:
Why a fan patch? And why should I download it?

We developed this fan patch because of the fact that Ensemble Studios is closing down in February 2009, and will no longer be making any patches. Without any fan patch, we'd be left with the game as it is, permanently. Japan and India would perpetually be too strong, bugs will go unchecked, and the community will suffer as a result. That is why it is important for everyone to download this patch - ensuring that the community continues to enjoy the Asian Dynasties for the future.
The patch not only nerfs the infamous Japanese and Indians, but also adds new map groups and rebalanced maps. Many bugs are fixed in this patch as well.

Great Job Guys!

Discuss It in our thread here!. Click here to go to the download spot for the patch.

Age of Empires III For Mac on Sale at GoGamer
Posted by Cheesewiz on December 06th, 2008 @ 5:07 p.m.
Every once in a while we come across some pretty good deals for HG-supported games that you might be interested in, and this time Elpea has found that AOE3 for the Mac is on sale for about 20% off at GoGamer.

So, if you've waited around until now to buy it, or if you are thinking about maybe trying it out over the holidays, this is a pretty good deal!

Also, this is as good a time as any to remind you all that HeavenGames also has a promotional deal with Amazon.com. How it works is that you can visit our product recommendations page, to see if anything peaks your interest. If you see something you like, and you want to buy it off of Amazon, then click the link we provide. You'll still get the same deal from Amazon, but we'll also get a 5% - 15% commission. Since HG isn't a for-profit organization, any money we get there will go toward new servers, new software, new rag clothing for the cherubs, etc.
