1.08 Coming Tomorrow! (Tuesday)

The anticipated patch is coming tomorrow!
We will be taking ESO servers offline at 1:00pm GMT (8:00am CST) while we roll out patch 1.08 and perform maintenance on the servers. Downtime is expected to be approximately 6 hours.

If you have any mods for Age of Empires III installed, it is recommended that you uninstall them before installing new patches.

Thank you for your patience as we work to bring this new patch online.
Sounds nice! If you wish to discuss the arrival, commment here.

Rating Decay

Patch 1.08 is already coming with an improved Quick Search and more appealing Colonial Age fighting, but now it comes with Rating Decay.

Rating Decay happened in AoM when players who didn't play for a while had their rating drop automatically. Now ES incorporated something similar to AoE3:
Following the release of patch 1.08, players who have a Power Rating level of 26 or greater will be subject to our new rating decay system. This means that players who do not play a rated game within a set period of time will lose rating points due to their inactivity. The period of time varies so that players who are level 26-36 need to play one game every two weeks, and players who are level 37-50 need to play one game per week to avoid having their rating decayed.

Rating decay will take place on Tuesdays at 8:00am GMT.
So just stay active to not have your rate slip! You may comment on this here.

More New World Tournament recs!

We've released another batch of recorded games from the New World Tournament, including games from several 2.2k+ players.!

The recorded games can be found in our recorded games section and we wish to invite you to discussion at the newly opened recorded game discussion forum. Thanks also to admins at other Age fansites who continue to help us out by respecting the tournament rules regarding recs.

PS: Of the ones I've watched so far, Amasis v Grun is well worth a watch. Check it out!

Spody on His Trip to ES

Recently, the Warrior's Path Tournament winners plus Spody and Mr. Milo were lucky enough to take a trip down to Dallas and work for Ensemble Studios for two weeks. They got to playtest The War Chiefs and give feedback on how to improve the expansion pack. Of course, they are not allowed to give away new information that is already known to the public, but Spoty wrote an article about his trip and thoughts on MrFixitOnline. One interesting thing is he talks about the card "Suvorov Reforms," a Russian card that changes all strelets on the map to musketeers.
This card can only be used once, and can make quite a difference depending on when you use it. In the Colonial Age and beyond, I have been holding onto my second or third colonial shipment for Suvorov Reforms, just so I can quickly use that card if it is needed depending on the situation.
That'd be an interesting one to use!

For the full article, read that here or discuss on the forums.

Forum Party July 29th - Level One Home Cities!

Our weekly forum party will be held on Saturday at the regular party times of noon and 7pm EST.

Our theme this week is to have a level one home city for the civ you are playing. This will be quite interesing, it means no factories, schooners, decent team cards, 2 falcs, good resource cards, well, you get the jist of it.

Not sure what a forum party is? It is simply when forumers meet up on ESO2 and play some friendly team games together. Sometimes the games are divided into teams that the players agree on, or sometimes people are willing to have random teams. Still wondering the details and times for your area? Just read the thread.

The Iroquois in Detail

Gamespot got their hands on a work-in-progress copy of The WarChiefs (lucky people, no fair!) and took a good look at the first native civ to be announced, the Iroquois.

Here's an excerpt about the Firepit:

a number of dances and unlock more throughout the course of the game. Some of the dances include the fertility dance, which speeds up unit production by 11 percent for each dancer assigned to the fire pit; the founder dance, which creates a new travois (builder unit) after a certain amount of time; and the alarm dance, which spawns warriors that are useful for defense.

Read the whole article here or discuss it in the thread in our expansion pack discussions forum!

Thanks to forummer fhertlein for the heads-up!

RTS League Season 3 Sign Ups

Sign ups for season three for the RTS League end on Thursday (August 3rd). The previous two seasons (Season 2 ending soon) have been extremely successful. Top players and great clans have competed and are going to compete in the third season. It is a friendly clan competition league that started for the Age of Empires Series back in 2001. Clans battle it out together, so get your whole clan involved, post a message on your message board on ESO or on your forums.
How good is the competition? 11 of the current top 15 players in cuetech have played in RTSL now or in the past. Eight of these played in season 2. 15 of the top 20 clans on the SkWizZ Clan ladder played in Season 2, and two of the ones that didn't are already signed up. But don't be intimidated: Clans of all skills compete, and you will surely be able to walk away with a lot of well-fought matches!

As we found out when we posted news here for Season 2, there are lots of HeavenGames forumers who would enjoy playing in this kind of friendly yet competitive setting. Leagues are not skill-determined so all clans are welcome, and will be able to play against some of the top experts as well as against clans of your own level. We look forward to another excellent clan competition and hope you will join us!
So everyone is welcome. Go on and sign up here. Good luck to all clans that are participating!

HGExpo is officially into existence! This Heaven-wide event is a celebration of the thing HeavenGames does best - Scenario Design and Modifications! The event will run for a total of 4 days, with a different event happening each day. This is the perfect time for modders and scenario designers alike to showcase there latest work.

Make sure to get involved and write guides, tutorials and articles! These should all be sent to BP. Check out more information about HGExpo here or here!

Bruce Shelley Blog (July 25th)

Once again Bruce Shelley has updated his blog. This time, he mostly covers the Warrior's Path Tournament Winners and the new Treaty Mode.

The Tournament winners had a lot of feedback on the xpack, here are some specific comments:
* Sioux Warchief special attack too good.
* Rifle riders still not good enough as an artillery counter.
* Naval game for natives vs. Europeans seem pretty balanced now.
* Three War Hut Travois card is too good for an Age 2 card.
* European Explorer sniper shot should recharge more quickly. Europeans are getting out-treasured by the natives.
* Big treasures (and sometimes even small ones) can greatly unbalance a game. (Age III X designers will do a treasure balance pass and also do a random map pass for placement fairness.)
If you wish to read the rest of the blog or discuss it go here.

Essay: AoM v AoE III

ES_Sandyman has written an interesting and detailed essay comparing the economic and military aspects of Age of Empires III and Age of Mythology.

Here's an excerpt:

I was online at a Gamespy-hosted chat last night and answered numerous questions. One persistent fan felt that Age 3 had ruined the feel he enjoyed in AoM because we had over-emphasized military at the expense of economy. Naturally, I disagreed, but seeing as I’m heading out for 2 weeks I thought I’d leave y’all with a parting essay on the topic.

Read the whole essay at Age Community!

Fairaway Island Competition Rules

The Fairaway Island Competition rules and requirements are posted up.

If you missed it before, the Fairaway Island Competition is a competition in which participants must create an island in the editor with certain aspects. The requirements are:
  • Waterfall
  • Harbor
  • Native American Settlement/town
  • Mountain
  • Regular town or city

That's all, short and sweet. Plus, the competitor well then take three screenshots from anywhere on the island. These will be standard screenshots from any angle. They should be eye-candy screenshots. Finally, a cinematic mst be made. that is only a quick your of the island, nothing fancy.

Of course, it is a big task. So guides and assistance can be found at The Guild.

Good luck and have fun! The full rules and thread is here.

Game Spy Interview Text

Forumer jaafit posted the chat log of the Game Spy interview earlier today. It mostly covers general things about ES and AoE3 but nevertheless and interesting read.
[Admin]WolfBlade*vK_SenniN-gs* What is the "secret dutch strategy" that we haven't discovered yet?

ES_The_Sheriff It wouldn't be much of a secret if we told you
ES_Sandyman forward build banks
Another one of Sandy's jokes?

Check it out here.

Age of Empires 3 e-sports launched a new site called Age of Empires 3 e-sports. is the largest German fan site and made this new site informing the community about all competitions and tournaments going on. Right now they have articles on the New World Tournament and the new season of RTSL.

There will be information of future and current competitions with some interviews with players and clans.

So just keep an eye out for tournament that may be out there at e-sports.

Poll Round up

In our previous poll we asked: Which of these would you buy if you had the chance?

This is what you voted:
*AoE1 remake/or a new X-pack [875 votes]
*AoK remake/or a new X-pack [1549 votes]
*AoE4 [3141 votes]
*AoM2 [1247 votes]
*None of the Above - Surprise us! [368 votes]

An overwhelming amount of people wanted to see AoE4. Only time will tell it seems :)

Our new poll inquires what you think about Sandy's response to, "The Aztecs and Mayans are very powerful natives. Having them both on the same map makes them OP." He replied, "you are aware that we have removed the Aztecs as a minor ally in the x-pack, right?" So what do you think it means? Vote!

AoE3: The Warchiefs Box Cover?

As forummer isuiki pointed out at our forums, it seems that IGN has gotten their hands on the boxcover of The Warchief expansion pack.

Personally I like it, although I'd like some reminder of the Colonial theme that is still in the game. The artwork is beautiful and the Indian nation looks fearsome and respectful. What do you think?

Site Update

Our staff has been busy working on new stuff all over our site this week. Here's some of what we got done:

If you've been looking for Age of Empires III: The Warchiefs information but got lost in all the articles, our FAQ might help you. The FAQ contains some basic information that will get you right up to date.

We have also put together an Eye-Candy Showcase. Even with a somehow lacking editor our creative designers have been able to put together some amazing screenshots done on the editor. If you're looking for some great looking pieces of what I call art, go ahead and visit the showcase.

Our staff is working around the clock to update the site with brand new The Warchiefs content. So stay tuned!

Next Load of Tournament Games Released!

A total of one hundred and one New World Tournament games are now live in the download section. They are available for download here. More will be released when the final rounds have been played. The best games are very much still to come!

These games can be discussed in the Recorded Games Forum. Feel free to make a thread discussing any game uploaded.

Some Info on 1.08

ES gave us a heads up on Quick Search improvement with 1.08. It appears that Power Rating will be more effective with matching up and no longer will you have to choose opponents with home city levels in the range 5, 10, or 15 from your level. Here's what they had to say:
As part of the patch, players will now have a Power Rating filter that they can adjust in Quick Search that determines the number of Power Rating levels between you and the opponent you are matched with.

The Home City filter will still be there, but it has changed so that it now contains tiers instead of levels. Home City tiers are just groups of Home Cities that have access to similar level cards. Tier 1 Home Cities are level 1-9, Tier 2 are level 10-24 and Tier 3 are level 25 and up. After the patch your choice will be to only match with players in the same Home City tier as you, within two tiers, or any tier. As an example, if your Home City is level 20 and you choose to match only with players of the same tier, you will be matched with someone who's Home City is level 10-24.

We hope that these changes give players more competitive matches in Quick Search.
Sounds much better and QS will most likely be used more. If you wish to comment on this bit of info post on the forum.

Bruce Shelley's Blog Update

Bruce Shelley has once again updated his blog. This time he discusses some playtesting issues with the expansion, a media visit to the office amongst some other interesting things. Interesting read overall, check out Bruce Shelley's blog here.

Thanks to BashUGood for the heads-up

Can I ask Sandy a Question Too?

Dear Sandy,

I'd like to ask you if our beloved Age of Empires III Scenario Editor will be getting fixed on the Expansion Pack? Furthermore, will multiplayer scenarios (not to be confused with RMSs) be supported? We were promised that it'd placed in a future patch (back at release), but that didn't happen.

The reason I ask sir, is because our site's downloads section is filled with designers who attempted at something great, but a lot of times are greatly limited by the bugs and lack of options the editor offers. Your fans have complained and complained on both our forums and AgeCommunity's with no response.

If you need a bug list, a wished feature list, or anything, our fanbase would gladly help. Please reply to this request at my forum thread.

Muchas Gracias Senor!

With love (towards you and Ensemble),

P.S. I realize that the editor isn't a major feature or of major importance, but some kind of feedback would be appreciated =]

Ask Sandy: Aztecs Not a Minor Civ in the Xpack?

On a new "Ask Sandy" ES's Sandy Peterson answers a question about the possibility of the Aztecs being an overpowered in the Expansion. Sandy gave a very curious reply:
25) The Aztecs and Mayans are very powerful natives. Having them both on the same map makes them OP
A – you are aware that we have removed the Aztecs as a minor ally in the x-pack, right?

Many wonder why the Aztec would be removed as a minor civ if they aren't a new major native civ. Forummers have been guessing that the Aztec might be a major playable native civilization. Hmm, playing Spanish could certainly be interesting in the expansion? =]

Give out your thoughts at Stophon4's speculation thread at our forums.

New World Tournament reaches 5th round

New World Tournament is now at its 5th round and we have the names of the first finalists! NaturePhoenix, Lego, Ourk, Finn, Groni and Starsky have won their brackets and will soon compete against each other for the grand prize of $750. There have been quite a few upsets already and these exciting recorded games will be soon made available to the public once the bracket winners get inevitably eliminated. The top 8 will receive prizes, so the matchups in the finals will be decided best of three instead of a single game. The maps for these 4 rounds have been announced here by Mokon:
Rounds 6-9 are played with best out of three games. Play the matches with the maps in the order listed below. If one player wins both of the first two matches there is no need to play a third. These are tentative so if you want to suggest any changes before round 6 starts please do so.
Round 6:Carolina, Pampas, Texas
Round 7:Saguenay, Yucatan, Great Lakes
Round 8:Great Plains, Yukon, Saguenay
Round 9:New England, Saguenay, Yukon

The recorded games of already eliminated players can be found at our recorded games section and we wish to invite you to discussion at the newly opened recored game discussion forum. We also wish to thank the administrators of other Age of Empires III websites for respecting the New World Tourney rules considering recorded games and thus protecting the winning strategies.

New Bruce Shelley Blog

The lastest installment of Bruce's blog has been posted. Bruce mentions how the winners of the Warrior's Path Tournament are getting on at ES HQ, and how they are also planning on inviting several other expert players to help balance the expansion pack. There's also new information on the single player campaign home city for the x-pack.

Check it out here!

17 new screens for The WarChiefs!

We have added several new screens of the Age of Empires III x-pack, The WarChiefs, taken at the recent E3 event. There are interesting images of the new menu, native home city decks and some new terrains!

Check out the screens here!

Many thanks to Kast0r and!

Legion AoEIII Cup Finished

Legion AoEIII Cup, a 2v2 clan-based tournament, hosted by the Legion Clan has reached its conclusion recently. The grand prize of $1000 plus apparel from Ensemble Studios was claimed by [hope]Finn and [hope]Ruthless__ with [MMC]StarSky and [MMC]DakenHo having to settle for $700 and similar ES goodies. 3rd place, with a $300 purse, was decided in a matchup where [SkWzZ]Ourk and [SkWzZ]Vekkou defeated [Vaga]Pip and [Vaga]SolraC. The rest of the top 8 also received prizes from ES. Congratulations to the winners and good job Legion Clan for hosting!

The final standings of the tourney can be seen here on Legion's webpage and the recorded games can be downloaded on their forums.

How to destroy a 2k+ German player in under 10 minutes

Somme has posted a build order for a Spanish Fast Fortress strategy with the aim of unseating a German player before they can ever even get a War Wagon out!

Here's an excerpt:
A lot of Germans opt for a very late fortress 8:XX if they do not suspect a rush and they send 3 settler wagons. This strat plays to this and uses it to great advantage.
I have been working on what works best for a while now and have come up with this..
Check the thread out here!. Whilst you're in the mood for some strategies why not pay a visit to Strategy Central!

New Sioux information from IGN

IGN has a new showcase of the Sioux civilization for the upcoming expansion pack, The WarChiefs.

One of the more interesting tidbits of information released is that the Sioux will have a huge 5 types of cavalry available, including a mounted skirmisher unit and a heavy cavalry unit. Other things to note are the Sioux shipments, which can be combined, and that the Sioux will be able to call mercenaries from more minor native tribes. Enjoy!

Thanks to Teh_Mac for the heads up!

Recorded Games plus Whole New Forum!

The first of the New World Tournament recorded games are available in the downloads here! These are only the first of the games to apear in the download section for anyone to download. At the moment though to protect player's strategies the only games that have been released are ones where both players have been knocked out. We have plenty of more prestigious games to come!

Also for discussion and criticism of these games plus the games to come and the exisiting recs in the download section a new forum has been opened: the Recorded Games Discussion Forum. I hope everyone enjoys the new forum!

Forum Party July15th

Our weekly forum party will be held on Saturday at the regular party times of noon and 7pm EST.

We will not be having a theme this week, but if everyone in the game wishes to play on a map, that map can be chosen. Otherwise, Standard Maps is the best choice.

Not sure what a forum party is? It is simply when forumers meet up on ESO2 and play some friendly team games together. Sometimes the games are divided into teams that the players agree on, or sometimes people are willing to have random teams. Still wondering the details and times for your area? Just read the thread.

Fairaway Island Competition

Age of Empires 3 Heaven is hosting a Fairaway Island Competition.

What is this you may ask. Well, for all the scenario designers and random map makers out there it is a competition in which you must create an island based on a short description (to be stated next week). On that island, you must contain all the components in the rules plus adding your creativity and make the island your own!

Also, an addition is you must take three screenshots of your island from any angle, zoom, or pitch to show it off and your eye candy. Make the island as nice as possible and original.

Good luck and hold tight for the official description. You can start by posting comment in the announcement thread.

Announcing the AoE3Heaven 1v1 Ladder League

We’re still trying to figure out exactly how this is going to work, but here’s what we’ve got so far. Leagues will meet at a specific time every week and participants will be paired with someone around their skill level and play a best of three match. You’ll be moved up or down in the league standings based on the results. A new list of matches is drawn up for the next week and we start all over. You can join/retire or go inactive at any time.

Interested? First you’ll need to sign up for the AoE3Heaven Ladder. For now we just have one league, which meets at 19:00 GMT on Saturdays. For all the info, rules and signups head over to the league thread.

New World Tournament: Round 4

Round 4 of the New World Tournament is underway. All game shall be played on Great Lakes.

If you have not set up a meeting time with your opponent on ESO please make a thread or look for one here. Once your game has been played report it in the Results Thread and do not forget to upload the recorded game!

There have been a few upsets in the tournament thus far and recs worth seeing. Want to see some? Well, we will be releasing recorded games of games in which both players that participated are no longer participating in the tournament. So be on the look out, some will be released in just a couple days if not sooner!

British Unit Guide

Forumer dre1919 wrote up and designed an in depth guide to the British units, it is very useful and is placed into an easy to read format. Effort and research is evident in his guide.

He gives the stats for Longbowmen, Pikemen, Musketeers, Grenadiers, Hussars, Dragoons, Jaegars, Highlanders, Hackapells, Mamelukes, Stradiots, Culverins, Mortars, and Rockets.

The guide gives you all the stats on the units: when it's available, cost, upgrades from arsenal, and what the unit counters. It is quite a "Comprehensive Guide" like he says. Very informative and would be handy to have for all other units!

Check it out on the forum.

New and Informative Sandy Interview

Gamespot interviewed head designer of the Expansion Pack Sandy Peterson and a few new facts and additions were revealed.

By far the most interesting answer in the article was about the new alternative to the Imperial Age. This is the Revoultion. Here is how Sandy explains:
Revolution is an alternative to the game's Imperial Age. If you are in the fourth age and are a European nation, you can spend resources to research the revolution. When you do so, you get to choose from two different historical New World revolutionaries, such as Simon Bolivar, Toussaint Louverture, or Father Hidalgo. Each revolutionary hero provides a different advantage.

When your revolution is complete, your flag changes to a new one, your home city is replaced with a revolutionary city (with new shipments!), and all of your settlers transform into colonial militia. For the rest of the game, you can no longer train settlers, and your economy basically slides to a standstill. However, your military power is enormous. Once one side revolts, the other side, by definition, become the imperialists and can't revolt.
Sounds interesting and exciting! There is a lot more information where that came from, check it out here and discuss on the forum.

Unit Upgrades Modpack Released!

Hard working mods at Napoleonic Era have created a Unit upgrade modpack. This mod is ESO friendly.

The modpack contains over 34 improved unit graphics, it keeps in mind historical accuracy and has different "decals" for units. This means that natives don’t just have a circle under them when they are clicked on, but rather a different design like explorers and mercenaries have.

This is just version 1.0 and they will be working on a 2.0 for The War Chiefs Expansion. So hurry up and download it here or at

NEW NOTE: If you have already downloaded it, please uninstall or reinstall, a bug was noticed that caused OOS, but is fixed now. They are sorry for the trouble but it will work if you either unistall it or reinstall the new one. Reinstall with the same links.

RTS League AoE3 Season 2 Playoffs

RTS League is in its Season Two Playoffs. The Season started off with one hundred clans and is now in a 25 clan playoff. MMC|guile wrote up an article about each of the clans in the top 25. And he sorted them into categories: Last season top clans, last seasons playoff-participants, the improved teams, the known newcomers, the "new newcomers."
Last seasons top 8 clans MMC, AzTeC, KoN and Oly kept up their good impression of the last season, only one top 8 clan missed the playoffs this time (three didn’t participate this season or didn’t finish it.). MMC and AzTeC ruled their group, no losses for those teams. They have been the two best clans in the last season and they are still hot. MMC will do everything to defend the title, but AzTeC definitely wants revenge for the loss in the final. KoN was the biggest surprise in the last season, getting the fourth place and they are really on the way to repeat it. It will need an even bigger effort than last season for sure, but KoN is a definitely a top team, able to beat even the favourites with a bit of luck. Oly couldn’t repeat their first place in their group, that’s a bit disappointing and it shows that Oly has it’s limits
Read the rest of the article here and keep and eye and ear out to see which clan will win Season 2!

The British Fast Fortress Smash v2.0

xMatt the Greatx has continued to work on his British Fast Fortress. His second version lets you have 8 highlanders and 3 falcs out at 9:30 plus a shipment. However, this is mostly for defensive purposes so you can protect yourself and boom. Here is his basic deck:
Tier 1: 3 vills - Virginia -Company - Pioneers - Colonial Militia

Tier 2: Glorious Revolution - Advanced Arsenal

Tier 3: 8 villagers - 1000 wood - Yeomen - Cavalry Combat - 5 Hussars - 10 Lonbowmen - 9 Musketeers - 2 Falconets - 9 Highlanders - 10 Jaegers

Tier 4: 16 Musketeers - 3 Rockets - Factory - Robber Barons
Matt outlines what to do versus different civs. Also, he recommends not doing this against Russia and Ottos for their rush will hurt you too much. Instead, do a colonial boom with Pioneers so you'll have strong villagers. And there is no 700 coin card, this strat basically skips the Colonial Age! There's a detailed Build Order and recorded games will be provided tomorrow. For the rest of the strategy read the thread.

New World Tournament: Round 3

Round 3 began a couple days ago with all games to be played on Great Plains.

Remember, recorded games must be uploaded to our recorded games section here . If there is any controvery/issue with playing a game please either e-mail Mokon or Stonewall J (e-mails can be found here.)

Finally, there is a new schedule for future rounds, make sure to check the new schedule in the thread.

Senator's Word on Net Neutrality

A few weeks back I made a post here about why you, the kind Age of Empires III Heaven visitor and internet user should persuade your district representitive to vote for Net Neutrality. Well, I'm not going to be evil and not let the other side of the arguement speak about it. So why not post what Senator Ted Stevens (R-Alaska) had to say about Net Neutrality and why he was against it:
There's one company now you can sign up and you can get a movie delivered to your house daily by delivery service. Okay. And currently it comes to your house, it gets put in the mail box when you get home and you change your order but you pay for that, right.

But this service isn't going to go through the interent and what you do is you just go to a place on the internet and you order your movie and guess what you can order ten of them delivered to you and the delivery charge is free.

Ten of them streaming across that internet and what happens to your own personal internet?

I just the other day got, an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday and I just got it yesterday. Why?

Because it got tangled up with all these things going on the internet commercially.

So you want to talk about the consumer? Let's talk about you and me. We use this internet to communicate and we aren't using it for commercial purposes.

We aren't earning anything by going on that internet. Now I'm not saying you have to or you want to discrimnate against those people [...]

The regulatory approach is wrong. Your approach is regulatory in the sense that it says "No one can charge anyone for massively invading this world of the internet". No, I'm not finished. I want people to understand my position, I'm not going to take a lot of time. [?]

They want to deliver vast amounts of information over the internet. And again, the internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a truck.

It's a series of tubes.

And if you don't understand those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and its going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material.

Now we have a separate Department of Defense internet now, did you know that?

Do you know why?

Because they have to have theirs delivered immediately. They can't afford getting delayed by other people.

Now I think these people are arguing whether they should be able to dump all that stuff on the internet ought to consider if they should develop a system themselves.

Maybe there is a place for a commercial net but it's not using what consumers use every day.

It's not using the messaging service that is essential to small businesses, to our operation of families.

The whole concept is that we should not go into this until someone shows that there is something that has been done that really is a viloation of net neutraility that hits you and me.

P.S. Sorry for the long post. Just had to show what kind of politicians are ending our free internet.

No Rush Custom Map

Many players play No Rush maps, it is a way to relax while playing Age of Empires III. However, many controversies come up when playing a no rush map. Are you allowed to kill the other person's explorer? Where can you hunt? Can you attack a forward settler? And sometimes the opponents break the "rules" and attack before the agreed time.

Well pftq and Furby_killer constructed a No Rush map version 2.0. It comes with an invisible wall to prevent people from breaking the rules:
These are standard ES maps with the addition of an invisible wall in the center. The wall blocks both ships and land units, dividing the two teams or players. In addition, all enemies will be set neutral to each other and fighting is therefore impossible.
When the timer ends (the number displayed in the map name), the invisible wall will be removed and diplomacies reset, allowing fighting and regular gameplay.
These maps basically provide perfect No-Rush gameplay.
So if you are interested download the map here or visit the thread here.

Forum Party July 2nd

Our weekly forum party will be held tomorrow (Sunday) at the regular party times of noon and 7pm EST.

The theme is United States East Coast Maps to celebrate the Fourth of July coming on Tuesday. So the maps to be played on are: Bayou, Carolina, and New England.

Not sure what a forum party is? It is simply when forumers meet up on ESO2 and play some friendly team games together. Sometimes the games are divided into teams that the players agree on, or sometimes people are willing to have random teams. Still wondering the details and times for your area? Just read the thread.
