The fact that Hinduism is a religion of peace is totally irrelevant. So is Christianity. So is Islam for that matter. What matters is whether the people practicing that religion FOUGHT wars, and in this regard the peoples of the Indian subcontinent, (mostly Hindu), are just as warlike as the rest of the world. The history of the Indian subcontinent is filled with wars, battles, conquests, struggles. There's enough stuff there for a hundred games. The Indians fought internal and external wars throughout the centuries, up into the 20th century, participating in WW1 and WW2 as part of the Commonwealth. After kicking the British out, India got involved in yet more wars, fighting modern tank-and-jet wars with its neighbors (mostly, but not exclusively, Pakistan). Note that I am NOT saying India was at fault in any of these modern conflicts.
There are plenty of cool mythical creatures from the legends of India that would make great units for AoM. Shiva would be totally inappropriate as a myth unit.
It seems to me that the existence of Hinduism as a thriving modern religion would probably render it impossible for MS to do a Hindu AoM module, for political reasons.
