i dont care much for flowery build-ups so here is my idea - have an option for somebody to plant trees so that there are not a finite resource dependent on the market during late game. food (fisheries/farms) and gold (caravans) are infinite (if sometimes slow), so why is the total amount of wood available to be harvested set and locked at the beginning of the game?
as a norse fan who likes to use huskarl, ballista and battering ram very often, i am usually desperate for wood late game. i would like to see an option for a villiger to plant trees like planting a farm. each tree could cost 5 or 10 gold or whatever and the longer you leave it alone to grow the more wood it will produce. for instance if you cut it down immediately after planting it you only get 5 wood, but if you wait 5 or 10 minutes, or whatever is determined to be a resonable length of time, you will get as much wood from that tree as you would any tree that was there to begin the game.
keep in mind that the cost and time are just examples and real numbers would have to be set through game play to see what works best. it is just something i would like to see put into the next age game (although i know it will never happen).
