We are working on the technical issues with ESO and making it a really good place to hang out. We have a very large team working on ESO right now to make it tighter and more functional. I can't give a bunch details about it but I personally find it much more functional than the current ESO. It is a great leap forward that should make the community very happy.
Graphic settings are a given. You can¡¯t make a game and expect everyone to have the best system on the market at the time. Because of the art direction the game looks good even with the lower settings. However I don¡¯t think everyone will have to break the bank to make the game look nice either.
As far as community support and updates goes we are working on a system for that to make everything better for the community, and support the game into the future. I don¡¯t know about 2050 by then we will all just be hooked up to our computers anyway and AOE XXV : Age of Monkey Catapults will be out . Smurfing should be a thing of the past as well with AOE3.
I can¡¯t talk to much about gameplay without giving away our secrets but it is deep. The homecity feature makes the game function on such a more strategic level combat wise and economically. You can win without having the best economy. The game is much more about strategic choices, knowing your civ, and playing well.
