There's no word on a demo, but judging by previous ES games, they will most likely release a demo around the release of the game.

in other words: wait half a year

if they're not rushing the game, which is what they claim, then they'll try for a release in the month leading up to christmas, to maximise sales

and the demo will come out perhaps a month before that

so like i said, wait 6 months

I had guessed that the demo for AOM:TT would come out slightly later than the actual release, and the demo was indeed released, if I recall correctly, around one week after the game hit the stores (won a T-shirt for it too, pity I didn't guess the number of fishes ).

I expect them to do the same with AO3.

yeh, I too think they'll release it afterwards... it's good (but VERY dodgy marketing).

If they release it before, only people who like it buy it.

If they release it after the game, then not only the people who like the demo but also the people who are die-hard fans (even if they don't like it!) will buy it.

Cruel, but it will increase sales by a bit, I reckon, unless AoE3 does the impossible and is "everyone's cup of tea", in which case it'll sell so much that it doesn't matter :P

Wouldnt it make sense to release it a week or two in advance, that way you get people hooked, and then they MUST go out and buy it. I already know I am buying it, but I mean for people who dont know of it. I know some peeps who play AOM and had no clue about AOE3 until I told them. Releasing a demo and advertising it a bit would surely increase sales..... one would think.

Sounds like it all depends on how much faith ES has put into their newest creation to sell. Dosent matter to me any ways since I have a mac. I'll just bug you guys to see if the game is good. I'm pretty sure it will be.

they will release the demo after the game goes in stores so that it influences more ppl who have bought it to tell friends to get it n' then they tell their friends...ect. ect. ect
if they release demo less ppl will buy it cause first they try it n' then .25% will not buy it cause they dont like it!
realease date of game will more likely be nov. 26, day after thanksgiving (biggest shopping day) and it is not to close to x-mas so word will get around about the game.

yay!!! my b-day is on nov. 27!!!!!!!!!

I hope they get out a beta or something like they did for AoM

If they put all they had into a demo I would pay good money for it and buy the game at christmas too.

I think the demo will be out after the game is released just like the other Age games.

We won't be seeing a demo of any sort I imagine if ES stick to their "planned" schedule, until at least a week after it hits stores around America and Europe. Nonetheless, some previews may leak (nothing major or it will be a let down) but maybe more interviews and screenshots may shed some light.

If there is going to be a demo/beta of AoE3, Don't expect it to come out before June/July. I sure hope it does

To be honest, I don't even think June/July - maybe Nov/Oct is more likely, simply because it would work best for ES to release demos when it hits shelves if anything. People may dislike the demo, or rather, play it and get tired of it as a result of its limitations.

No real information about Beta testing either.
