Perhaps normally it will go basic-medium-heavy and then elite instead of champion. Imperial would be a new fifth level. Just remember that there wasn't a different name for the different versions of musketeers that appeared through the colonial age, they were all just musketeers (except redcoats of course.) And the same goes for all unit types.

^ That's how I'm hoping it will turn out as well.

I would definatley like to see nation-specific naming for musketeer units but on that note I would also like to see a line of rifle-wielding units with nation-specific naming as well, such as the German Jaeger battalions employed in the revolution as a sort of "spec-ops" detachment

Yeah, A bit like AoM in that each faction has the same kind of unit only they are all different in some waylike the throwing axeman and the toxotes.

I wouldn’t mind it if all Nation’s basic shooting unit was called the musketeer (although I would like them to look slightly different). However, I’d like to see some other special, unique units like tirallieurs, jaegers, riflemen, ect.

If they "die out" I'd like to see the option to upgrade the ones you still have into musketeers (and from then on treat them as such) so they can maintain usefulness - for a cost of course. It's kind of lame to have an totally outdated unit sitting around if you ask me. I don't want to see arques walking around in Age 4 or 5.
