i'm sure ES isnt going to do something as stupid as putting animals that will attack you on a LN map. They never put them in their NOmad maps, so why would they start now?

Yes, that's true. But we aren't discussing old LN, we're discussing AOEIII LN with a sniper unit that can kill any animal in a fraction of a second. How much experience do you have with this system?

And, on top of the explorer, it seems you start with a hnadful of infantry (not enough for raiding, but for defense iiic)

Also, it's likely that although the game is nomadic, your villies will probably start in close proximity to each other.

in a map designed the same way as LN in AOK there will not be predators. Who cares if you have an exlorer that can kill stuff in one shot if the villie being attacked is 50 tiles away?. Also, whether or not you need villagers to build a TC you still need them for economy, and losing an initial vilager will be devastating. Try starting a game in AOK or AOM and deleting one of your starting villagers and see how it effects your second age time.

were not talking about normal AOE3 maps here, were talking about Land Nomad which by definition has no water, and also has your villagers scattered. I for one don't think this will be a default map, I'm just saying that if it is then it won't have predators since they don't work in LN. Obviously in other maps there will be predators and it won't be a problem, because your villagers and expolrer will all be clsoe where they can defend each other, but in LN this is not the case.

Maybe you start with all units together in a LN map.
