Does this mean that the Spanish Explorer unit is different to the other civs'? In what way?

What do you guys make of this?

I think it's just a regular unit, after all, all the soldiers in Spains armies were called conquistadors.

It isn't talking about explorers as units, it's just saying that you (Spanish in South America) are a new breed of explorer called conquistadors.

It's interesting though because they underline it, and if you notice they only underline units and buildings, perhaps it is a "special upgrade" for your explorer (kinda like how Redcoats are a special upgrade for musketeers)

To Be Honest I Think Its Just a spanish Name for Them. I Dont think It WOuld Go Any Futher, Say A Uniqe tech/unit Because the Conquistador Was a Uniqe Unit in AoE II.

But You Never Know With Ensemble. Thats whats So damn Good about them.

your reason doesn't make sense because the British still have Longbowmen and the Ottoman Turks still have Janissaries, and Aztecs have Jaguar Warriors (not 100% confirmed)

Maybe the conquistador is one of those name-changing upgrades, like the British redcoat. I got the impression that a number of civs will have name-changing upgrades like that.

He thinks Cacadore should be Cacador, just like in AoC Conquistadore is not spelt Conquistadore, it is spelt Conquistador.

Back on topic:

IMHO I think that by 'explorer' it means that they were one of the first in the New World, rather than the Spanish having a different exploring unit.

Ok Good Point With the Longbow/Janissarys. Meybe Its Just a Namechange Like Leif Said. Then again It Could Be Instead Of The Sharpshooting Explorer The Other Civs Get.
