The Brits get a free villager with every house so I expect there to be many early wood Home City shipments as part of strategies. Since houses cost 50 more wood for the Brits a shipment of wood will bring in just enough wood for 2 houses and 2 free citizens. This reliance on early wood is an interesting facit and will be hard for a lot of people to get in the swing of not training as many villagers, I know it was for me.
British long bowmen are cheap and deadly, the expert British AI on yukon will keep constantly pushing out longbows with hardly anything stopping it. Since you are tasking most villagers to wood you have ample wood to produce longbows (they only cost wood and food) and plenty of pop room to hold them. Longbows are a very potent units and something that I will be looking forward to seeing is a nice longbow raid force though they are only available for 2 ages they will be a force to reckon with. Although against people such a raid may not be as effective as it is against the game's AI, time will tell.
I haven't had a lot of time to spend with the British but they seem like they can be extremely strong in the hands of a capable player. So far I am extremely impressed at how differently the civs play. All have their own special way of playing them and many people will enjoy the vast diversity. If you had any doubts about AoE3 forget them... the game is solid and seems to be pretty even in this rough early version.
If you don't get AoE3 you will be mocked by your peers GG "I've kicked more ass on accident than most people have on purpose"
