Hey everyone, just played the demo for an hour or two, and I thought it was awesome.. I just was wondering about one thing, the physics.. During one of the movies from E3 or something, I saw canonballs realistically going through buildings and leaving holes, and when they actually hit the steeples it would break.. In the demo I might see like 1 piece of the building randomly break off the whole time, and not even when a cannonball hit it in that spot :/ I thought it was going to be havok physics for buildings on most shots, but its actually general damage.. Maybe its my graphics that isn't good enough or something.. anyways, any comments or suggestions?

That's how it is for me aswell, with settings mostly at high.

It seems that as a buildings dmg goes down, pieces just randomly "break" off.

It'd be neat to see cannons actually having an impact and breaking things away more realistically.

Aswell as cannons killing multiple people behind each other. Though I didn't get a chance to really play with that (as the enemy AI pretty much whupped me) When I had a few cannons firing into his lines it seemed that the cannon "stops" when it hits a person or such instead of actually going behind them as a cannon would likely do if it doesn't rut intot he ground.

Well I had everything on high in the game, including bloom and water reflections, except for low shadows and medium shaders... so that's why I'm asking, is everyone getting the same physics or is it actually how it looked in the movie, where a cannonball would go through a house most of the time... I also wanted to add, I had no options for formations, so I was wondering if they were included in the demo, and if so, where could I access them?

In Options, there is a setting for "Turning Advanced Formations On". Click that.

I think the reason you aren't seeing great graphics is you're probably focusing more on playing than watching.

My biggest problem is that the UI is friggin huge and takes up close to half the screen But I can survive that :P

I think they removed that feature because it consumed too much CPU power. Oh well, atleast we still have ragdoll physics.

I actually watched for quite some time and it seemed with normal units it was kinda random, but when I hauled out the big guns it seemed to take location damage, I mean a ball went straight through a British building blowing a chunk out the back, it was pretty sick.
