Do you get the same amount of food harvested if you have two mills with one person each working at them as you would if you have one mill with two people working at it?

I wouldn't think that it would matter...does having 1 person at 2 gold piles work differently with 2 at 1 gold pile, in AOC?

You can have up to 10 villagers at a mill/plantation harvesting. There's no harvesting speed advantage to having mills/plantations at less than ten vils per building. But you do waste a lot of resources investing in builds unnecessarily!

I think he's asking if the gathering rate changes as you add more people to a mill (i.e. the last villager you add has less of an overall effect on the total gathering rate)

I think even if the rate changes with each villager you add, it wouldn't be enough to warrant spending more wood on a new mill

Thanks. Yeah, I was basically asking will you get the same amount of food per time unit if you had say 10 mills with one person each farming them verses one mill with 10 people farming it. So, it would only to be prudent to build a new mill after you have 10 people working on your current one.

Those two cases are the same -- there is no diminishing returns for gathering. Building 2 Mills is twice as expensive though, so don't do that unless you know you need it.

We usually have 3 Mills and 3 Plantations by late game, depending on how much of the map we control.

There is some limit of the number of guys you can put on a Mine, because at some point they just won't fit. But there is no advantage to gathering from two Mines at once, unless you're just trying to keep from having one large, juicy target for raiding.

I always spread out my villies avoer a couple mines and a couple hunting spots. To be honest, against the AI, I've never really had to build mills or plantations, because I win before the world resources have been exhausted. I haven't played it on expert yet though, so this may change - I'll upgrade today!

Sometimes, I will have less then 10 villagers at a mill and some of them will be sitting around doing nothing. Is this normal?
