Greetings,

I don't know if this is the proper forum to post this in, so if this is not, please let me know. I'm currently looking for people from New England that would be interested in organizing a gathering for AoE3. This gathering would be for LAN gaming(LAN Party if you will). I know there is many options for online gaming, and I play there a lot, but nothing can beet the experience of playing within the same LAN. Nothing like seeing the fear in another players eyes as your armies sweep through there town. Please tell me what you think, and if you are from New Hampshire, or even New England. And please, feel free to contact me anytime at nxgravity@gmail.com.

I live in massachussettes and I would go to a LAN party. however, if you are not experienced in hosting LAN parties you should probably host a couple with your friends before inviting people over the internet. remember, the key to a fun LAN party, is a well organized LAN party where the host knows all the answers.

that means:
power, power is key. you need to know which sockets are on which breaker and how many computers each can hold.

hardware. who has networking hardware. who is a networkign specialist and can troubleshoot problems and set up the DHCP correctly (don't use 2 routers if you don't know what your doing)

software - does every have their software installed and updated?

food - important is food

tables and chairs - not many people bring their own tables and chairs. this is the most commonly overlooked item at LAN parties I've been to.

GOOD LUCK!

What part of New Hampshire do you hail from? And yes, I agree that nothing beats a game in person. The priceless look of shock on your opponent's face as you pillage and burn his town is something that just can't be transmitted through the internet. I'm a wee bit suprised, though, that you'd invite random strangers from the internet to a party.

Don't question authority - it doesn't know either.

I live in Southern New Hampshire(Near Nashua). I have actually hosted a few LAN Parties, I actually had one last weekend, though it was an FPS Genre night. Everyone I know from my area love any FPS, and RPG, but its hard to find someone that is into a good RTS. However I'm no expert, and can't have a huge party, but would like to get some decently sized parties going. I have all the networking equipment we would need.

That's about an hour from me, I think (I live in Somersworth). Coincidently, my uncle lives in Nashua. What town, more specifically?

Do people who live in Hampshire, England get excluded from this 'New' stuff?

Milford? Ah yes, I remember them. My soccer team played them and got totally wasted, I'm afraid. It was rather embarrasing. I met one of their players later and creamed him though.

Well, if you don't mind a bit of a swim, I'm sure you can come.

Early December. Maybe even late November, depending on if we can poll something together in time. First I wanted a list of people that would be willing to go, and then start working on the fine details. I think this would be great if it could develop into a monthly meeting, but lets just see how the first one goes.
