After a load of problems getting my new graphics card to work just on my PC (I just bought it for AoE3), how about this for a kick in the nuts...
I am in the UK and had AoE3 on pre order with Amazon for the last 6 months. A couple of weeks ago I saw it on Ebay on "buy it now" for £28 (more than amazon) but I thought I would get it ahead of the UK release date. I cancelled my order with Amazon and paid up for the ebay offer. The UK release date came and went and nothing from the Ebay scum bag. Finally yesterday my package arrived and it was a pirate copy!
Maybe I am destined never to play this game. Any hints on getting a refund from pirate distributing scum like this?
In the meantime I'm off to the shops to buy it again.
Costs of AoE3 so far...
NVIDIA 6800GT £160 New PSU inc shipping and duty from US £150 Two copies of game £60
Total £430 = USD 765
Doh!

Your graphics card will serve other functions and will last for a while anyway. I would demand my money back from Mr. Pirate and report him to ebay. You could also notify Interpol and ES and give them all the details you have. I never liked ebay personally, had a bad experience myself and never went back. You try to save a buck and it costs you two.
You've kept a good attitude about it and just shrug it off. You can always make more money and your comp will run better because of the upgrades. You're wiser for the experience.

If it might cheer you up, i had to buy a whole new pc... Above the specs required to play the game decently but i spent 1700€ on that one

you know, not everyone on Ebay is selling pirated games.
