I think what makes them so effective is the big splash damage. Also they have the biggest range in the game, or maybe the same as Heavy cannon. Both are awesome, but rockets seem better, IMO. In any case, 6-7 rockets can level pretty much anything. Units, base, whatever is in range. If games lasted longer, I would play Brits just for that.

I just get 5-10 rockets together and they can take out medium sizes armies, yesterday i was losing becuase my ally quit, what i did was get 15 rockets(and a few other cannons) and trap them in walls, then when my ally came all i saw was +8 and +20 and lots of explosions, it was soo cool. i should of taken screen shot

I like producing rockets from my factory when I reach the 4th age.

Rockets pwn, though Heavy cannons are nice, too. The splash damage makes the rockets so great. Plus, it's really fun to completely pwn the cavalry charge intended to destroy the rockets with the rockets. Cannons can't do that very well. Rockets are particularly fun if you have some kind of meat shield between them and the enemy. When I was playing the demo, there were several times that my rockets were the only units I had survive a battle...and they would win the battle.

Splash damage? I'm confused. Both cannons and rockets have aoe listed as 4.

I think the difference is that I can raid 10 rockets and 10 cannons with the same amount of cav and I seem to lose many many more cav to the rockets. They seem to be decent vs everything.
