Did ES include Linux or w2k in AoM, AoK or AoE?

Technical issues. This is a high-end game technically.

why should they, it is expensive and then 3 linux users buy it.

Everyone knows that if you have linux and want to game you have to dual-boot

Microsoft bought the game. Why would they like it to be produced for linux if they want only windows to be sold?

Considering that MS owns ES, the motivation to develop/port to competitor OSes does not make sense.

However, many people are questioning why W2K is not supported, but that makes sense to push people into purchasing XP or wait for Vista.

Linuxs and Mac-versions would be stupid, because Microsoft owns ES and they want to push their OSs. And, because they want to push WinXP especially, they don't support 2k.

Microsoft has a little scheme to keep you buying their newest software and OS's. They stop supporting their old ones after three years.

It makes sense from a business standpoint. But kind of sucks if you as the comsumer don't want to upgrade that often.

Microsoft stops supporting a game when they release a new one. At least if it's Age of Empires I, II and III or AoM.

Microsoft would never develop a game and then sell it to it's competitors without requiring a high prize that the opposite company could not pay without going bankrupt. That's buisness...
