Id have to say cable or DSL is pretty much a must. Dialup is going to cause alot of frustration, by you and other players.

I honestly wouldn't bother on dial-up. Me and my cousin both play and we're on DSL and there is still MASSIVE amounts of lag. Whenever we start a game, there's like 4 minutes of lag (which I'll admit is nice, it gives you a veritable pause to do all the starting orders in), and every time battle flares up lag starts. ESO is laggy as hell.

All you need you do is register and play, though after your first game on dialup you will understand the true meaning of frustration.

Well the last time I played online was with Red Alert some years ago and that was on dial up so as long as its better than what it was like then I'll be ok with the lag.
