Today I played my first online game, after days of drilling against hard and even expert computer players. It was against a guy named True_Savage or something of the sort. Afterwards, we became friends and added eachother, and he plans to invite me into his clan Anyways, the first game we played was me (british) and a AI (Spanish) against him (portugeuse lvl 20) and a AI (British). I found out I am doing extremely well tactically. At one point he had three medium-sized armies drilling at points around my town. I had only a handful of natives, as well as some veteran musketeers and longbows. However, with some good tactics and a fort, I managed to repel his forces time and time again. I finally lost when he and his AI both took me on at once and after I defeated his forces, I had not but a handful of muskteers and a culverin left, not enough to fight the forty men the AI had sent my way. Anyways, my question in this thread is how should I maintain my economy? I find it rather hard as the British, and I was always short on wood this game. See you on the field, (P.S: My name on ESO is Toysoldier, if you want to fight.)
True_Savage gave me a tip and told me my playing style would suit the Dutch. IS this right? Should I be Dutch? (I usually go for a boom/defensive strategy)
