It's so annoying to micro some 5-15 Abus Guns for 2-3 of them to shoot each seperate Strelets. Do you know how much bloody clicking one has to do when there are some 40 Strelets attacking you? My hand hurts afterwards.
Can't rely on attack move either, 'cause then you have 10 Abus Guns shooting one Strelet. Now
Use melee cavalry you say? Melee cavalry is another thing that's been pissing me off. I'm so sick of having to micro each and every bloody horse to run around it's peers so it can finally get in range of it's target. The more cavalry you have, the worse it gets, the more of them are wasted if I don't micro each and every one.
The AI for melee units in AoE3 is HORRIBLE. And the good Strelet users are taking full advantage of it. They keep falling back, firing, falling back, you know, the standard micro one does with ranged units vs melee units, and 4/5 of the bleeding melee cavalry ends up playing " And don't even get me started on units deciding to attack buildings when there is another unit As good as AoE3 is, it's got some unbelievable glaring AI issues. It's difficult to understand why they weren't fixed either before release or afterwards, in a patch. Can't really accept that such AI behaviour is a design feature. It's too frustrating. RTS developers aren't in the business of making unit control frustrating, are they?
