I would love if it in the Xpack in quicksearch/game browser when u select all maps or standard maps during the loading screen if both players ticked a box that said change map, then it would change to a new map.

I cant stand Patagonia personally.

I think a better idea would be that you can put ticks next to the maps that you would like to play so that it would only select from those maps.

To contradict myself though, I think it's not a good idea if you can select what maps you want to play. For example, I've noticed that ottoman players almost always prefer great plains to any other map. The problem there is that if an ottoman player could just ALWAYS play on great plains then he could theoretically get a very high rating just from playing one map. In my opinion, a good player should be one that can play well on any map, not just one.

Of course you can choose what map to play since you can just resign until you get it or even just host a game with the map you want.

I don't think that not wanting to play just one map is bad since you can obviously still play well on a variety of maps.

What exactly don't you like about Patagonia? I really can't see how someone would find any map more annoying than Rockies.

Patagonia has plenty of hunt and looks nice and green. :P

I like Sagunay for the same reason, plus you get a free economic building!

New England is nice too.

I don't really like the look of Rockies. After seeing that, its easier to see something nice

I guess just the sight of so many huntables looks nice to me.

YAY lots of fresh meat to feast on!

I love all maps but patagonia, sonora (depends on my mood) rockies and bayou

Bayou because there is no build space
Sonora because of OP natives.
Rockies, I don't think anyone likes it.
Patagonia because it has balance, always favours the rusher, and no natives

Allthough cetans are darker, did you know that if you read the word 'cetan' as a dutch word, that you get the same sound as when reading 'satan' in english.-Furby Killer

That's what the game browser/custom game is for. Plus, then you would have people who only want to maya rush n00bs or something like that choosing certain maps, it would just become lame I think. You aren't a skilled player if you can only win on one or two maps, and I think that this would just increase laming. But like I said, if you want to choose a map type, that's what the game browser is for.

Any good reasons for why this has to be the case brtnboarder?

I have no problem with ottomans choosing great plains so long as the second player has also 'ticked' great plains. What's wrong with that? I think it's a great idea. Since nobody wants to play rockies, no-one would tick that map either, it's win win.

A good reason might be:

Say Ottomans love Great Plains.

Then surely its going to be OTTO'S vs OTTO's a lot of the time.

There are maps I prefer with Spain and Brits, basically some maps are better suited to some civs.

I like the randomness of it all, I hate playing the same civ I am.
