Which map/native/tech do you often try to get?

Do any of your decks have the Native Lore card (All Native American lore improvements at Trading Posts cost no Coin.)?

No native lore, I find it hardly ever pays off as half the native techs are typically cheap and a waste of the card, and there are often only one - two different natives on each map, so maybe you would be able to purchase 3-7 techs without having to pay gold? Not game changing IMO, especially since late game everything becomes "cheap", so that's when I get them.

But the only few that come to mind right away is the tech that allows you to get dog warriors shipped, 4 villagers for 200 wood+200 gold, and Incan road which speeds infantry by 10%. Oh yes then there is the sharktooth tech which gives sharktooth natives a rather large boost in siege attack, or the Caribou (I think?) that grants a ranged attack boost against villagers.

I usually try to get the Lakota tech that ships bison to your TC.

I agree about the Native Lore card. I'm trying to determine when it would ever be very useful and I just don't see it paying off compared to other cards.

As Britain you should get the seminole archer tech.

Is there a native that increases the attack of skirmishers/stretlets?

The best native american tech is the Cherokee "Basket weaving" or something like that tech. It makes all of your Dock, Plantation, Mill, and Market upgrades cost no wood. (It is either no wood or no coin)

tupi and cree techs that cut buidling costs by like 25%. great to get early on, makes houses, TC's, mills, well everything cheap.

cree tech that heightens non-artillery HP by 5%

There's also that tech that makes buildings cheaper. That might be useful for Britain!

the nookta tech that makes your villies stronger is a nice one

whenever i get seminoles i gotta get the building upgrade so they're usefull.

lakotas, they have very good ones aswell, getting the one that cuts gold costs on techs first.

The following are really good:

All the inca techs (if you're in indsutrial and have factories, GET THE TRAINING SPEED UPGRADE. It affects factory artillery)
All the cree techs
The villager HP upgrade for nootka
Coin tech for aztec
Bison and cavalry tech for lakota
Comanche mustangs from comanche
If you're british, the archer attack upgrades from tupi/seminole
4 settler tech for cherokee

There are probably more but those are all I can think of ATM.

It sends the appropriate number of crates at the time you send it. I think it's 100 gold every 2 minutes, so if you researched this tech at the 10 minute mark you'd get 500 gold... if you researched it at 20 minutes you'd only get 1000, and so on. You wouldn't keep receiving 100 gold after you research it.

I think that Native techs are generally very underrated.

I know there are some goods ones that haven't been mentioned but I'm drawing a blank right now.

many techs are good but situational,

tech reduced building cost, reduced research cost etc, in early game where they are useful, but you wont have the spare res for them, in late game when u have that spare res, u often dont really need them anymore.

techs like vil upgrade are not important if you are on the offense side.

techs that improve certain units are only good if u actually plan to use that unit extensively.

the only tech that is great at all time, imo, is the inca -25% train time.

Playing a game with a friend that you take a break in the middle so that it is INSANELY long, then getting that, and dog soldiers......

That Lakota buffalo tech is very useful on the Unknown map, where there are almost always hardly any huntables.

Comanche research is only like 300 resources, 150 food/gold.

Also, since the building techs affect TCs, they're quite useful.

Same for TPs, combine with ATP you get 65% off.

What about the lakota tec that reduces train time
Usually i get upgrade cards that make hussars acutally good!

Most of this thread has focused on the research techs.

Does anyone use the CARDS that affect the natives? I tried using these extensively early on because of my interest in using the natives. The only one I use any more is ATP; the others just dont give enough 'bang for the buck'.

Native treaties is really good when you have 2 TPs, and own in Unknown when you can get like 6 of them

That one that makes Natives 25% cheaper is good also.
