Lately it seems like I've been playing people who are two or three skill levels above me and are pretty bad. I'm a master sergeant and I've played one Spanish player that did nothing but mass musketeers and sent them on death marches against my base (which was walled with towers and skirmishers). Two French players who sent the early skirm card (did I mention that these people were about thirty levels above me?)and just made skirms and musketeers. One got to fortress at 17:00 and I came later with 35 skirms and 5 falconets and owned him. I also played a German that massed infantry like the previous three.
What is up with this? It seems like I've been playing a lot of people of higher rank that just mass troops with no real strategy.
Anyone else have this happen?

yeah i've noticed this a lot aswell. maybe it has something to do with the fact that QS actually matches you up with someone in your rank, thus filtering out all the n00bs.
Maybe they face noobs a lot. My friend get worse (or I get better) when we play, so my rating shot up a lot.....a few games of getting back in the swing of things but not really trying too much has lowered my rating and gotten me xp. works out pretty good but I need to check that my last game was recored correctly b/c after I left the game (I just won) it sent me back to the main menu b/c "you could not connect to ESO or something.

I noticed it a few weeks ago. I think there are a lot of people that beat new people because they used one powerful strategy but didn't really learn anything from the game. If that one strat doesn't work, then they are done.

This has happened many times to me. Just don't always worry about the PR unless its not even close to yours. If your near it, it should be a close fight.
I just played someone who massed longbows and made a few hussars and did the same strategy. I just massed skirms which beat the longbows(I shipped the attack upgrade) and made some falcs and ruyters and owned him.
