If you are playing a civ that do not have access to schooners, what should you do? Should you
a) Let your opponent boat boom and just ignore the water?
b) Try to boat boom yourself?
c) Try to kill his boats?

i play germans lately and i go on the full offensive on land. Meanwhile i try to tower along the coast.
For the second i have towercards in my deck and settlerwagons build towers pretty quick.

It's pretty easy to do ATP and Schooners anyway.

If you're using caravels, try to make a couple more, then screw up his water boom even more by fishing from his waters with a few of them =D.

I doubt it would match schooners, but what about sending a faster wood gathering card? unlike schooners it would benefit building other things (houses, x-bows, defensive/offecsive/gatehring caravels, TPs, etc..) making it useful in other areas and even if you get kicked out of the water. It would level the playoing field and give civs with already decent economies a chance to challenge the boom especially with a couple support vessels.
