Yep.
It's funny how the 'rush' word is being used nowadays. Since everyone is used to FF, any sort of colonial fighting is now called rush.
I don't see what's wrong with focusing on counter units. Countering is a fundamental part of the game.

I find that usually 1 guy goes natives (if there are good natives) and the other guy makes the counter to whatever would counter the natives.
"The lembas had a virtue without which they would long ago have lain down to die. . . . this waybread of the Elves had a potency that increased as travelers relied on it alone and did not mingle it with other foods. I usually do this, because I like to function as a closer team (Planning attacks with teammates, planning where, a lot more coordination that way).

yes it seems so obvious
plan? why are you brain dead and need to be told
rush? hmm yes this is not a non rush game, or do you mean build army and attack which is the point of the game and keep steady ecomic production
fb? hmm near the most dangerous enemy
also it annoys me that when newbs are wiped out and you have to rescue there hero and tell them to rebuild they say why?
why do you think enemy wiped you out!! arg enough

Solution: Only play 1v1, or play 2v2s with people you know.

That seems a tad silly - what is the point of playing team games if you are just going to use individual strats, and hope they complement each other?

A rush is putting everything into attacking as early as possible, not what you describe. A very justifiable question to ask.

And if you both have different ideas of who the most dangerous enemy is? And if you agree, do you build to the north/south/east/west? Seems a quick map highlight would stop that confusion.

You are a team, you are just as responsible for the less experienced one getting wiped out as he is. Perhaps a bit more communication during the game may have helped him, rather than calling him a noob and you both lossing?
Sure, communication in the first 2-4 minutes of the game will be repetitive , but the first 2-4 minutes of the game is repetitive anyway. In team games, with equal skill, the team that works together the best stands a much better chance of winning, and that requires communication.

Actually, I prefer to coordinate actions with my teammates, so we have a better chance of success. Not to mention going lone ranger all the time can get pretty repetitive.
