well.... I have said GG before while I still have an army as I sent it in a ultimate desperate attempt, I know Im lost so I say GG but I dont resign immidiatly, I wait for my army to be destroyed, I just say it because I know I have lost and im simply aknowlodging that it was a good game, there no intention in it for them to lower their guard or anything.

Agree that GG does not mean anything about quiting.
But it have et least bit logic in that meaning: You should not jundge anything before its complete, so when you say GG you
1) dont know what you say and you say it automaticaly et end
2) you are expressing that you consider this game practicaly completed and you enjoyed it or think that other player played well
3) or you realy likedsome part and wring enything longer (like "well done") would take to much time from your micro.
