I am going with 99.99% probability no turtle ships.
Sandy says no elephants in the game.

Two units confirmed new units, that I guess will be mercs, are Swedish Fusiliers and Italian Elmeti.

Swedish Fusiliers.

The two were just confimered by Sandy tonight, I believe.

Fusiliers are either heavy of light ranged infantry.

Elmeti, no clue whatsoever.

Elmeti were knights that used lances effectively. Expect a Lancer type mercenary.

Kastors using that model and texture made, but not included ingame, by ES, so we can expect it to look like that.

Expect Fusilers to be mounted musketeers, similar to the new native Musket Riders.

Both the Fusiler and the Elmeti will be mounted.

Are the Elmeti's Texture already INSIDE Age of Empires 3? Because if they are, how do you unlock them? Or did you make the texture yourself?

Still could be an Abus equivelent depending on shipment size. Though a fast moving unit of that style would be brutal. In whatever case I think we can expect the unit to fill a role other than the black rider.

Why do you think the fusiliers will be mounted Cy?
There are already 2 merc ranged cav and what I see on the internet tends to say they were infantry.

Lol, ES is so cheap they can't even come up with new graphics, instead they use an already made one. How did you unlock it?

Edit: Nevermind they might use new graphics for it. ES is not cheap. And ES did not make me say this, ES delivers fun and excitment to all, at an affordable price.

That's mot really cheap. They made the graphic for their game. So they just had to save it a little while. (If they use the same one)

Quoted from say1988:

To answer your question, I must pick apart something from Wikipedia:

Quoted from Wikipedia: Fusilier:

Various forms of flintlock small arms had been used in warfare since the middle of the 16th century. At the time of the English civil war (1642-1652) the term firelock was usually employed to distinguish these weapons from the more common matchlock musket.

The special value of the firelock in armies of the 17th century lay in the fact that the artillery of the time used open powder barrels for the service of the guns, making it unsafe to allow lighted matches in the muskets of the escort. Further, a military escort was required, not only for the protection, but also for the surveillance of the artillerymen of those days. Companies of firelocks were therefore organized for these duties, and out of these companies grew the fusiliers who were employed in the same way in the wars of Louis XIV. In the latter part of the Thirty Years' War (1643) fusiliers were simply mounted troops armed with the fusil, as carabiniers were with the carbine. But the escort companies of artillery came to be known by the name shortly afterwards, and the regiment of French Royal Fusiliers, organized in 1671 by Vauban, was considered the model for Europe.

The general adoption of the flintlock musket and the suppression of the pike in the armies of Europe put an end to the original special duties of fusiliers, and they were subsequently employed to a large extent in light infantry work , perhaps on account of the greater individual aptitude for detached duties naturally shown by soldiers who had never been restricted to a fixed and unchangeable place in the line of battle.

Okay, now let me pull out the quote about the light infantry role first.

Quoted from Wikipedia: Fusilier:

The general adoption of the flintlock musket and the suppression of the pike in the armies of Europe put an end to the original special duties of fusiliers, and they were subsequently employed to a large extent in light infantry work

The fusiliers did not become widely used as light infantry until after the adoption of the flintlock musket and the suppression of the pike. The fusil was a matchlock musket. The game does not portray the suppression of the pike and there is already a light infantry mercenary, the Jaegar. However, there is not a mercenary like the musket rider. Look again at what Wikipedia says:

Quoted from Wikipedia: Fusilier:

In the latter part of the Thirty Years' War (1643) fusiliers were simply mounted troops armed with the fusil, as carabiniers were with the carbine.

During the Thirty Years' War the Swedes allied with the Dutch. The Dutch employed carabiniers with carbines (shorter barrel rifles and pistol caliber carbines) while the Swedes similarly employed fusiliers. Both the carabiniers and the fusiliers were mounted.

Therefore I conclude that the Fusiliers will be mounted.
