For AOE3 plain.
I have one PC and I want my and my son to have our own home cities. I noticed the data is saved in a subdir of My Documents. How can I set up another shortcut so my son will not use my own cities and saved games and data?
Thanks.

It can not be done for online gameplay, as the HC's are stored online.
If you want it for offline, I don't know if you can install the game twice in 2 separate locations, but maybe.
Other than that, it's the kind of thing where you'd have to name the HC's DADSpain, SONSpain, and use the honor system. Remember that those HC will not be saved online. You'd have to name your HC's like that online, but the only thing is you will be sharing your ranking.

This is for offline play. I thought there might be a command line switch I could add to the shortcut to specify a different data directory than the default one.

Easiest solution is probably to create another windows user-account for him, which he uses for playing. (This way he will have his own "My Games" folder, so there wont be any problems.)
Downside of this solution is that he has to log off the current user, etc...
