I have just played TWC and I have a few questions:

1. Why are some native military units highlighted with white circles (on the floor)?

2. In vanilla, ships were repaired if tasked to a Dock. In TWC, that's impossible. How do you repair a ship?

3. What exactly is the function of the native big buttons?

Thank you very much.

1) They're under the aura effect of a warchief. They now have increased attack or speed, for example.
2) Weird. Put your ships nearby a dock and they should be repaired.
3) They're special techs. Consider them as "home" shipments.

Thank you for your reply.

So, what is the difference between big buttons and shipments? :S Are big buttons like er... "shipments already shipped and ready to be researched"? (If you know what I mean)

The big buttons are always there, they are like special techs.

They are like shipments, but available for research as they were techs. More or less like this, no?

they look just the same as native settlement's techs. You're asking about something that has no mystery at all. It's just a tech. The button is big to look cooler.

Big Button techs are just techs. Some do ship in units (kinda like some techs at native trading posts, like the one that ships in Huron Mantlets). Some ship in resources. Some are actually techs, like unit upgrades.

Aztecs Big Button techs tend to ship in units.
Sioux tend to ship in unit upgrades.
Iroquois tend to ship in resources.

Ships heal at docks just like they used to. Grab a hurt ship and right-click one of your docks, he'll head back and start healing.

OK, I understand it. I was just expecting something more about them, for some reason

I don't know about other civs, but when I was playing with aztecs, I couldn't select a ship and then right-click the dock to repair it, because it'd just garrisson inside the dock. But OK, you only need to put them near it.

Let me ask you just one more question: why do some shipment cards have "TEAM" written before their name?

TEAM shipment means that in team games everyone on your team benefits from your shipment. Typically, they are not as good as non-TEAM shipments, per person.

For example, a normal mill card might give you +20% mill gather rate. A TEAM mill card would give you a +10% mill gather rate. So, the benefit evens out with a 2-person team, and goes ahead with a 3-person team (the team as a whole gets 10%+10%+10%).

Of course, their usefulness assumes that the entire team is using a strategy that would benefit from the card. Often, that isn't the case.
