" In our upcoming patches for WarChiefs and Age of Empires III, Quicksearch will be getting some much requested changes. Firstly, you will no longer be able to see what civilization the opponent you are matched with is using before the game launches. Many players cancel out of the match when they see a civilization they don't like playing against. Another factor that currently makes getting a good Quicksearch game more difficult is the two minute resign rule. Currently, you can resign from a game in the first two minutes, and the game does not count as a loss for you. This is now changing for Quick Search so that games count toward your rating and win record from the very start. Games played through the game browser still have the two minute rule in effect.
We hope that these two changes will make getting into a game through Quicksearch a faster and more enjoyable experience."
True ender, but my prediction is that ES will just make their siege 10 as it was before, well I hope they'll do that. :\
Your giving them too much credit. I don't feel that making pikes will be that necessary still, you have an 8 pike shipment to siege and I have a feeling rods won't be reduced back to pre - TWC stats, meaing they'll be decent at siege.

Speaking of which, does anyone know when it is to be released? I know they said January, but that could mean either less than a week or another month.

I like this change. People quitting because of the map (Ottos on Bayou) or the opposing civ was always VERY lame IMO. Part of the risk to a civ is that they perfom on some maps better than others, and against some civs better than others.
As far as a map screw goes...They happen to everyone, just deal with it. The law of averages will take care of itself in that regard.
Thge only people that are going to whine about this are the ones that are guilty of being selective. They're lamers IMO, so who cares what they think

If anyone mentions that goddam law of averages again I'm going to flip. I don't care if the person I have no gold mine vs will get one in a week's time against a completely different opponent because it doesn't affect me, the fact that my opponent is statistically as likely to get screwed than me doesn't really make up for it. If all there is is 2 players on eso constantly playing eachother than I could see sense in using this as an argument against the 2 min resign rule.
Howabout we give ottoman military + 100% HP but they only start with 3 vills? Should average out, no?

^^ Would you like some cheese with that Adam?
IMO map screws should NEVER happen, but the map generator is what it is, and I'm willing to put up with them if it means that lamers can't keep resigning because it's not the opponent...or the map they wanted.
Whats next? Should we be allowed to resign because we didn't find our hunts fast enough, or that they ran in a weird direction when we tried to herd them?!? Give me a break
If you're getting in that much of a hissie fit over a map screw you probably need to get a grip and get a life.
