Can you add new background music to this game?. If so how?
I have already tried renaming my .mp3 files and putting them in the same place as the original music. It didn't work.

You can play different music when you create a Custom Scenario using AOE3 Editor.

You can generate any map you like, set the civs, and then add a trigger with “Sound File” effect pointing to the music you want to play.
You can use this method to play several music tracks one after another.

For more information about the Editor and Triggers check out the “Scenario Design” forum.

Every game of Age III TWC I play starts with "They are Night Zombies! They are Neighbors! They Have Come Back from the Dead! Aaaaaahhhh!!" by Sufjan Stevens. Even in Skirmish games.

I simply took an mp3 of the song, renamed it "Muptop" (paying carefull attention to case specific) and replaced the original file. I start my game: voila, Sufjan Stevens in Age of Empires.

My method sounds like what you did, but I assure you it worked for me. Did you make sure to capitalize where it was necessary?

And out of curiosity, what music are you trying to put in?

just make it a taunt (name songs with a number in the taunt section).

first, go to the sound folder in the age of empires 3 folder, then go into music(or Xpack, if the warchiefs is installed, and then press music)

then get the music you want and rename them to the specific name of the original files and they should play

I doubt it. I think it's strictly mp3s.

I believe you can convert them, by some means or other. There's a firefox app you can use to play the music while you play, I believe.

Well, I don't know what to tell you, sorry. You didn't replace EVERY single song, did you?
