I'm confused. My main civilization has always been the Ottomans, but I got tired of them, so I decided to try a new civ. That's the problem. I played Sioux, then French, then I played Aztec, then British, then Russians, then Dutch, then Ports, then Spanish. I wasted a lot of time leveling up all those home cities. Now I'm confused as to which one I really want to stick with, even if it be the Ottomans again. I don't get to play very often, so making sure the time I spend leveling up a home city is worth it is important. I don't know why I'm asking, but could any of you out there help me choose?

Well, I guess if you are looking to get The Asian Dynasties in a few weeks time (hopefully!) then you will at least get three new civs to play around with and to work out new strategies for.

In the meantime or otherwise, I guess you have to work out which civ you have most fun with... that is after all the fundamental point of the game. I too am an Ottoman(iac) - I just find them more fun than the other civs I have messed around with. I truly believe they have a greater variety of viable strategies than anyone else, because of their reduced dependence on a food economy.

At the end of the day it's up to you... how about Germans? They are quite fun to play, good amount of variety, and benefitted from the 1.04 patch.

Yes I'm getting TAD when it comes out, and when I do I'm definitely trying the Chinese.

I noticed Germans and Iroquois are the only ones I haven't tried yet. Iroquois are boring to me, but maybe I should try Germans...the Guns and Biers strat ultimitsu came up with looked pretty good, and I do kinda like their capibilities now.

I would like to go back and forth as well, but I don't like playing with low level home cities and I don't have much time to play so I can't level them all up.

I was considering Portugal. For some reason I disconsidered them. I can't really remember why though...I think it's because they're still kinda weak on land maps and are always the target of a rush (and I'm not used to such because I'm usually the one doing the rushing as Ottos). It's hard to decide where to put tc's safely ensuring they'll go up.
