That doesn't clarify the situation.
I assume all players of TAD will be using the protoy.xml file for unit definition, so that part makes sense.
But what about civilization files? What happens when someone with AOE3+TAD using Dutch plays against another player who has TWC+TAD and uses Dutch?
Are you saying they will have different civ stats and bonuses? Will the TWC dutch player be able to use a bank wagon but the AOE3 dutch player will not? Will they have the different Imperial age techs? etc...
EDIT: Now that I think about it, I'm guessing it works like this.
- The AOE3+TAD player hosts the game and the TWC player joins. They both play as Dutch but since it's AOE3+TAD they will use the vanilla dutch changes.
- The TWC+TAD player hosts the game and doesn't check the option to allow vanilla players so the AOE3+TAD player can't even join the game.
- The TWC+TAD player hosts the game with the vanilla option turned on. Again they both play using vanilla dutch.
Very, very confusing especially for the TWC player who hasn't looked at vanilla since the xpack came out. Suddenly these players have to play and understand their civ using two different game systems. The result is still a split in the community you just don't always have to launch a separate program to sometimes play together.
