Mughal Empire is ok, with one problem: Indians don't think of themselves in a historical timeline frame, or at least in traditional Indian culture, according to several professors and Indian friends.
Koreans do, however, and from a marketing standpoint it makes perfect sense for them to be in the expansion pack. They were very unique and different compared to China and Japan, just as China and Japan had very different ideals in their culture, different units, and suchlike.
Korea would be defensive, with some strong aggressive units like the turtle ship. Having them as a minor civ to be colonized just denigrates their entire cultural status. Koreans didn't rebel against the Japanese twice in the 16th century and the 20th century for nothing. Furthermore, they actually managed to expel Hideyoshi's samurai army. Is that not impressive?
Oh yeah, and the Korean celadon potters were shipped to Japan and are historically credited for influencing/inspiring Japanese pottery, which is nowadays more innovative than Korean pottery (IMO).
Nup, I think China, Japan and Korea are VERY different.

Well, as a Westerner, I'd have to say yes, they are similar.

Yes, it is a swastika. The swastika comes from a Vedic (and Hindu, as well as Buddhist) symbol for peace and prosperity. The Nazified version of the svastik was the hakencreuz.
Also...top left- Chinese. top right - Japanese. bottom - Korean.
And Im pretty sure India is in it, seeing the portraits on the AOE3 site.

True, it seems the Indians replace the Koreans due to the portraits on the site. SIGHHHH. Koreans as a minor civ would suck though....barely any new things they can give them. The turtle ship would have to be completely ignored, of course (no such things as trading posts on water).
I agree that 4 new civs would be better...I wouldn't mind waiting another half year for an expansion that adds all 4.

Everyone keeps saying Korea would be a defensive nation. Can anyone tell me why?
(I don't know much about Asian history, sorry, we only learn about America and Europe.)

I wouldn't accept a nazi smybol in here but this definetely isn't one (direction goes to the left, not to the right for instance).
I think India will be in, so no way for Korea (just as minor ally).
