So this is how it is going to work. Every once in a while, I have a GREAT game, that I just have to retell here. Hopefully, every once in a while when I play a good game, you have too !
SO yesterday I was playing a 5-Player FFA. It was Andes. I was Green, playing Ports. My TC was left of the middle person, Orange, who was playing Ottoman. To my left was Yellow, the Dutch. To Orange's right was Red, playing the Germans. Then all the way to the right was Blue, playing as Spain. Now all the starting TCs were relatively close.
So the game started out well, I was doing the best, pulled off an okay FI. Nobody was really attacking anybody, I just saw a few field skirmishes over resources. Midgame, however, Blue shouts "INQUISITION!" and takes down one of my outposts with about 10 Veteran Hussars and 5 Pikes. He retreats before I can catch him. I'm laughing my head off at his random outburst of Inquisition. Now, lucky for me, the Saloon has arsonists. I get 8 of them, travel down to Blue's front gate with 15 goons and the 8 arsonists, and take the gate down, along with a missionary, 5 hussars, a fortified outpost, and a few villies.
Blue gets little pissed, and tries to attack me again but fails miserably. I send in my second wave, in which I prevent another outpost from being put up, and kill about 7 villies. Before I can attack again, however, Red comes in with massed Uhlans and Dopps. Blue cant handle it and suffers majorly.
Meanwhile, my explorer is at the top of the map getting control of the four Incan TPs. I get to the last TP, furthest to the right. While I'm doing this, Orange has gone in to blue's base to finish him off. I have all four TPs now, and get together 52 Champion Huamanicas and 32 Champion Bolas. Suddenly, though, the attack alarm goes off. I quickly check the mini-map, go up to my eastern TP and see blue rebulding up there! I send in 10 arsonists and all my natives. Pretty soon blue's backup base is down, but his explorer is elsehwere. For the next 10 minutes or so, my dragoons work their asses off going on a wild goose chase after blues last couple of vils and missionaries and his explorer. Finally, I get explorer down for the last time. His vils are all dead. I corner the final missionary, and he is dead.
The battle is not over yet. Orange marches his massive Ottoman army back from the campaign against blue. He marches right past my and red's bases, showing he is very powerful. He tells us to help him attack yellow, or we will die. I have to listen to him. You shoulda seen this guys army.
Anyway, there is a 20 minute siege on yellow. He's got insane eco, pumping out Imperial Skirmies and Ruyters. I'm attacking him with Heavy Cannons, Imperial Jinetes, and my natives. I have a fb Native Embassy. Soon, after I break his walls, red and orange go in to take out his banks and eco. But yellow still is rebulding to the Northwest. I pull out my army, quickly build up and charge from the east this time, completely. I also bring in 3 Lil Bombards this time, VERY helpful. I manage to break into Yellow's new base. He has rebuilt his eco and houses. Just in time, Orange comes in from the west and red from the south and we push yelow out for good. The problem is now, Ornage has to leave in real life. I tell him to revolt and send all he has. He does a good job of it, and finally resigns.
Now me and Red are both in Imperial. Red has spies researched. I round off the last of yellows villies, according to Red. But yellow's explorer is fast, and on the run. I manage to research spies. I see that yellow has spies (the unit) all around the map in stealth mode. I ambush yellow's explorer, use one spy of my own to reveal yellows' and kill his spies with goons. Pretty soon yellow loses.
Me and Red. This is what it has come down to. It's over. I'm lategame ports, hello . Red fights gallantly, but still loses. I read the final GG message, and I win.
