What exactly are Fusiliers? I heard somewhere that they were like Skirmishers, but the fusil was a flintlock musket and the Fusilier appears to have a bayonet on the gun as he's a Musketeer. Is he a more powerful musketeer, or a super-skirmisher like a Jaeger?

Thanks!

Fusiliers are a unique breed... You can check out their stats at the units page that's stickied at the top of the forum.

Fusiler are like Higlanders, a Muskteer with a very powerfull attack.. but Fusiler got x1.5 vs LightCavalary, as LI does.. it's strange.

Fusilier
-300 HP
-10% Hand Resist
-300 Gold
-5.5 Speed
-70 Range Attack w/ 1.5x Light Cav and Light Infantry
-35 Hand Attack w/ 1.5x Light Cav, 1.5x Light Infantry, 2.0x Cav

Highlander
-400 HP
-40% Hand Resist
-200 Gold
-4.0 Speed
-63 Range Attack
-32 Hand Attack w/ 1.5x Light Infantry, 2.0x Cav

They both are designated as: RangedInfantry, GunpowderTrooper, Infantry, Mercenary, HeavyInfantry.

Basically Highlanders are more sturdy, traditional Musketeers and provide the most for your money's worth.

Fusiliers are more like a Skirmisher in a Musketeer's clothing with lower health, more attack, higher cost, and the additional bonuses to range attack. Their speed is awfully useful, a shame their range is the same as normal range heavy infantry...

they are meant to be used to beat cavalry raiding, even ranged cavalry (ERK, sioux bow rider) raiding.

If u get them at the saloon u should use them ,the 70 rd and 70 hd vs cav with 5.5 speed really helps ,its like a ri-hi combo that can deal with both li and cavalry. only problem is cannons. but after one upgrades units to guard and from arsenal its better to switch to normal units as they cost 1 pop to fusiliers 2.

Doesn't the Dance Hall card reduce population space for Saloon units?

Aren't Fusiliers Industrial Age mercs?

Yes, but, as Elmeti, if you get them in Saloon you can build them in Age 3.
