So I'm starting a Port home city, Level 12, and accepting all opponents 10 levels higher within the same Tier on Quick Search. No takers. At all. Is everyone using the Fan Patch, or what? Higher levels? I'm playing TAD....are most peeps playing vanilla? How bizarre!

i dont think you can set it to all above a level, do you have it set as within the same tier? with in 1 tier?

answering these questions will help me understand and solve your problem as soon as possible.

if you cant get quicksearch just host a game as 1v1 then

Maybe let the search find a more ranged value of hc or tier so you have a better chance of getting game.

that is a good way of seeing it tyler,
most people probably wouldnt want to play someone with such a low city level. try doing some games unrated to get your city up,

oh and your problem is that you set it to within your tier, which meant people with level 10-20

not many people play with that level cities.

Use the normal game selection screen. Quicksearch is more like slowsearch.

If you are reading this, I'm just wasting your time.

Haha I never understood how to even use quicksearch, first day on ESO I tried it, got no results, said "wtf", tried again, said "wtf" again, then went to use the good ol' browser. =P

hmm, just thought of something here..

if you go to quick search and lose a hundred times to lower your rank, thats not point trading right?

its like distributing your points to the community sort of..

just a thought, sorry if im out of place or something kiv.

Point trading is when you purposely give away points to another person to boost theres or your own rank.

Well, thanks all, I DID finally get a game, but it took a good deal of searching as well in the Browser. Funny, a year ago or so, I never had trouble finding a QS game. Never knew it had gone out of favor.

Hmmm... I don't think it would be considered Point Trading.

I only use Quick Search. Personally I would prefer if they removed the game browser all together, maybe allowed it for team games. You should not be allowed to hand pick your opponents or the map for rated games.

I agree with Mockhamill. Sometimes I go to game browsers and enter a game with standard maps selected. I greet and I click ready, at that point the host changes standard maps to one map so that he can do his one trick pony which doesn't work in other maps. --> Lame!

Besides that there aren't many 1 vs 1games hosted by players of my skill level.

Qs is better when ur 20pr ++ or such.

It seems there are some map screws every now and then, but it doesn't matter if u play a civ that gains map control early

And natus, the lower ur rank is the better odds u have finding a game.

Quicksearch is great apart from that aforementioned Map Screwed = Totally Screwed part.

Oh and Natus, I do not recommend using QS on TAD, especially without Fanpatch because you will just be STOMPED by 4 Japanese Lamers, 3 Indians, 2 Aztec Fishboomers and an Iroquois in a pair tree.

But yes, just use the browser until you get a HC of 30 or something so you can actually find people. There are tonnes of N00bz only matches that would probably accept you no matter what your HC level.

QS is rubbish on TAD, every 10 games or so you get a rubbish map, and then you get an india or jap opposite you

TAD, every 10 games or so you get a rubbish map
Which maps are rubbish then?

In Nilla I don't get many map screws. Even if I get one, it's not that important because you have to take map control even on non-screwed map.

If you don't have TWC you cant see alot of games, most people have TWC content enabled. You don't have to activate TWC account though...

For maps that people don't like, they usually are all water maps with some land on either side, and you have to cross water to kill the other person, People don't like this...well at least most don't because it wrecks their land strat, and its not as fun gaining the water as gaining the map, and if you aren't good on water maps only land maps, then you might gew owned by some noob who does good on water maps.

Thanks again for the hints, y'all!

Are most people here using the fan patch? It looks very cool, but I'm using Vista, so it looks annoying to install.

Wow, gone are the days when I could get annihilated at the drop of a hat by a billion Atlantean players. Sigh.
