I have just about finished my deck for the brits for 40 min treaty in tad.

My question is, should I use the wood trade card?

If so how should I use it?

Would I still use the wood trickle and other 2 wood cards?

thanks

If you use wood trade, then you dont use wood chopping cards or trickle. Vice Versa.

To use wood trade you do a standard boom getting to imp, then once youre imperial age, and have sent all 3 plantation cards, you put 80 ish vils on gold. Trade with about 11-12 minutes left of treaty.

I dont ever trade with brits unless its a nr55. But its up to you.

Thanks Storm, will follow your advice.

Are there any civ where you would recommend the wood trade in a tad 40min treaty?

i only wood trade with otto
They've got a card slot open for it and they've got a pretty bad economy so it works good, and it ties in perfectly with their military style.

Should always wood trade with ottos.

Thanks Storm will keep that in mind with otto.

Also when do you start making soldiers in 40 min treaty?

I am guessing that is the last thing you do as you want to age up first. Is that correct?

Well dont really start making soldiers before the treaty time is close to ending. About 37/38 mins into the game maybe 39 after you get the upgrades

Nah thats only for civs like India and France that fur trade.

Brit dont have a late trade like fur trade so they can and SHOULD make army in a good amount of time to spare so you can get your army set up in the spot it should fight.

My British army almost always consists of 6-8 culverins, 6-8 Rockets, 20-25 musketeers, 26 skirmishers from church, 8 highlanders from church, 18 Minutemen from TC's.

Only reason i would ever make an army late with brits is because i was waiting to get a glimpse of my opponents starting army, so i could better counter it.

Making an army late just leaves you unprepared and vulnerable, prone to losing map control right away. Making your army early, setting up your fighting position (almost all maps have crucial tactical positions that when controlled, wins you the game. You almost always want to place your starting army at these crucial tactical positions), and spreading out scouts and fb vils along the half map line will have you prepared and ready to take map control right away.

Mmm you should send minute men from your towncenter AFTER youve maxed your main army. So you would max pop to 200/200, then send minute men for 218/200. Overpop gives you an edge in battles, and minute men are particularly good as scouts placed incrementally across map. also useful to draw fire in intitial starting army volley.

and jsut a note, you should ALWAYS send your church armies with all civs AFTER youve maximized your main army.

So max brit army.... 200/200
send church army.... 242/200
send minute men.... 260/200

OP start army overpop. In some situations you would also send 25 cherokee in start army too. 285/200 ftw.

What kind of an army would you build to go against a French player who does almost all cav and art?

Would it look any different from your above army?

The battle is land in 40 min treaty tad

Thanks again Storm, you have been a big help!!

What is your opinion of the longbow?
