Hello forum! I just recently started playing AOE3 online again--I hadn't played since about 2006/7. And wow, am I rusty.
I love this game; I love the mental stimulation and exercise it can provide (nothing beats a good strategy game). Back then, I would only find supremacy games with "no rush" rules. Good for EXP, but not quite the challenge of playing the game "pure". So recently I started hosting/joining 1v1 or 2v2 games with no rules, and would swiftly be decimated.
At first I was using my old Dutch civ (because they were great for no-rush games), which was a mistake. So then I switched to my old Spanish civ, because I read that they're great for beginners or lesser-experienced players. It was after a few rounds with the Spanish that I realized I have a LOT of learning and training to do.
I want to get better and, ultimately, help others who may come along in this forum, for as long as we can still play AOE online. Is there someone out there who can take me under his/her wing, show me the ropes, help me improve? I'm more than willing to be humbled, have my civs beat up again and again, etc., as long as I'm improving at the game.
I'm ready to take the first steps. Who's interested? Either way, thank you very much for your time. I look forward to talking to you in these forums in the future!
