One thing about AoM's interface that annoys me is how you can't see how much HP your units have if they are selected in a group. All you get is the unit type's icon and the number of units of that type that you have selected (on the right hand side). In AoK, each individual unit (NOT unit type) had an icon that appeared on the interface when you selected them, with the health bar beneath it-- but you couldn't immediately see how many units of each type you had.

I would think that it would be best to give selected units a group health bar- i.e., if you had an army of 20 Toxotes fresh from the Archery Range, when you select them, a health bar will appear beneath them- all color, 0% black. If they have been through some battles and, on average, are at 50% HP, the health bar would be half color and half black, etc. If you have 20 Toxotes but one of them has only 1 HP, the bar would be 95% color and 5% black, etc. If you have more than one unit type selected, you could see the group health bars for each of them beneath the icon (and maybe a "total group health bar?")
