I hate for my first post on this forum the be some noob question but this is really making me mad.
In the editor whenever I test my map the enemy settlers gather the boxes then just sit there. YES! I tried loading an AI for the computer player. I must of tried every AI in the folder and still nothing. They have trees to chop, gold to dig, but they'd rather rest. I made the enemy human/comp and unavalible and i cant think what i'm doing wrong.
What gives?

I'm a noob to this too, but are you trying to create a scenario or just trying to map a custom map for just a supermacy or dm modes? If you are trying to do a scenario, I would try using trigger with the condition of after the villagers gather the boxes, then use an effect that makes them gather..

I'm not sure if this would fix the problem, but in AoM, when an AI file is select, it should be opened by clicking the open button.
Do not double-click on the AI file as it won't load .

Having built a number of AOE2 scenarios and never having built an AOM scenario, this is so bloody frustrating that I want to forget I made the mistake of buying the game
Can some post a tutorial or a single-player custom scenario/map, sort of like an AOE2 conquest objective?
Sounds like I am hardly the only one punching on the coordinates for MS HQ :P
UPDATE: Ok, the trick, as I learned from the post:
"Ok so how do I get custom maps into skirmish mode custom map list ?"
is to place an "AI Start" object near the initial town center of each civilization. I just tried this, in addition to adding an AI for each computer player, set up hot air balloons to look at the civs, and walla... it seems to be working!

I'm just trying to make a custom map, not a whole scenaro, for now. What is an AI start object?

The AI Start object, when you place objects on a map near a player start location, get the AI started rather than being idle. Otherwise, nothing triggers the AI to get the peasants going once they unload the initial supplies.
Place an object and make sure you are placing "All".
