In the trigger efect list there is an efect labled: "render fog" that should work.

It should be in the embelishment or nature sections. Check the fog's proto stats, it should tell you what editor class it is.

For example:

units = <UnitType>UnitClass</UnitType>

buildings = <UnitType>BuildingClass</UnitType>

animals/trees, etc = <UnitType>NatureClass</UnitType>

rocks, signs, dead bodies, grass, fog <UnitType>EmbellishmentClass</UnitType>

So is that fog in this picture AN OBJECT?

I can't imagine that. How should it work? I mean, it's clearly some property of the enviroment lighting etc. Or are we talking about other kinds of fog?

To be honest, i dont know. Fog was not included in the demo because it isn't in the proto file; i checked. But since it doesn't appear to cover everything in that image then i would assume its the same as the mist object in AOM, a partially transparent object that units can walk through, like the mist from AOM.

No modern game can render fog like that... And in that image the fog covers everything, its density just increases with distance. Like a real fog. Even in the demo you have fog in the deep canyons in the campaign mission 1.

I believe distance fog is a property of Bloom. You need good video card to run bloom.

The fog in that picture might be attributed to the water, but I'm not sure at all...but the fog that I do know of is indeed an object.

If you plant carolina marsh trees there is fog rendered around. But thats marsh fog and if you remove the tree the fog also disapears. I think its an object, it would be a shame if yo ucant render fog in the mountains.

like this, Bad example tho you can barely see fog.

Well, it's like rain = I do beleive that's an object in the editor. Ot that might be snow. Nonetheless, if there is fog as an object, it would be plausible.

Fog is made by the lighting, and a good graphics card, and sometimes bloom(bloom only blooms the lighting like a flower, as in spreads it out) but the lighting in this pic made the fog, along with a good graphics card.

So it's shader effect I guess. And yep, there seems to be a fog object too.

it would make sense for fog to be an object. objects are things that are 3d and you see them by the effect they have on the lighting. for instance, a man is covered by textures which reflect lighting of certain colors. the fog is an object which allows light to go through it but absorbs more and more light as it goes through, therefore it's an object.
