Hey guys, I'm creating a scenario, and had the idea to scatter cannons around the map, as gaia, which can then be captured when found by a civilization. The only problem is... I don't know how to go about this. I assumed setting the cannons as gaia would make them behave like gaia animals which are captured when visible, but this is not what happens. I can only attack them, as if they're an inanimate 3rd team.
So I'm wondering if someone could help me figure out which triggers to use (I'm assuming triggers would be necessary?) to make the cannons behave correctly.
Again, I just want the cannon to come under a team's control when that team encounters that specific cannon.
Any help is greatly appreciated! I just really wanna play this, haha.

You could try..Using the "los" condition illustrated in the other post..Then..Use the "convert" effect..I believe that would be easier?

As far as I know, you can't make them behave exactly like animals. I think you could set it up so that once someone has it, it's theirs for the rest of the game, but I'm not sure if you can set it up so it can be captured by anyone, even if it's already owned by another player.
The way I'm thinking of, is that you could make one trigger for when someone is close to the cannon, I don't know the exact name of this trigger, but I'm pretty sure it's a condition. Once you have that, make the effect convert the cannon to whichever player is near it.
The problem with the way I'd use is that you'd have to make triggers for every cannon and then you would have to make the same trigger for every player. And after one player has it, you'd have to have another effect that disables the other triggers for each player on that specific cannon (if that makes sense...?).

You can achieve it quite easily by modding. Take the "FixedGun" as template. The most important is the tactics file action "AutoConvert".
Manipulating with triggers is much more complicated.

and one more thing, for my understanding any LOS triggers causes out of sync errors when you play it on multiplayer.
