I used the scenario editor to gather this information. As I did not want to do every colonial age unit, I did the main three(imho): musketeer, crossbowman, and hussar. I also did the skirmisher because I play Dutch and it helps with microing. I have added veteran cassadores and veteran skirmishers for everyone who begged for them.

It takes a skirmisher this many shots to kill these units (for dutch players). In brackets are the number of shots for veteran skirmishers:

*Note: The crossbowman will miss his target every so often, so all of my stats for crossbowmen show approximate shots including misses.

*Since the cassador is of veteran status, and can only be made in the third age, these figures will only apply if you are in the fortress age and your opponent has no upgrades to his military units.

Note that none of these units are upgraded.

Please do not base your army on these stats alone. You have to take into account range and speed as well. If you have 15 musketeers, it doesn't mean that you can kill 5 skirmishers, as a good player will not even let your musketeers take a shot.

    Great post! If you put your units into groups and micro the shots of the groups it would help turn the tide of battle, just like that Cassador vid Ceres made

    skirms and cassadores are meant for microing . a good player always let his skirms move all the time as they get owned by cannons and cavalry. if you let them stand still they are cannon fodder.

    Since I often do a ff and then get some Jaegers, I decided to find out how many times they have to shoot different units. Jaegers deal 27 damage, and have a 2x multiplier against heavy infantry. I got the results by calculating, and left the hitpoints and armor there, so that it is easy to calculate it for other units aswell.

    Light infantry

    Skirmisher - 120 - 0,3 armor= 7
    Strelet - 90 - 0,3 armor = 5
    Longbowman 95 - 0,3 armor= 6
    Crossbowman 100 - 0,2 armor= 5
    Jaeger 250 - 0,4 armor= 15

    Heavy infantry (2x damage)

    Veteran Halberdier - 180= 4
    Pikeman - 120 = 3
    Rodelero - 130= 3
    Musketeer - 150= 3
    Janissary - 235= 5
    Doppelsoldner - 200= 4

    Cavalry

    Hussar - 290 - 0,1 armor= 12
    Cossack - 225 - 0,1 armor= 10
    Uhlan - 190 - 0,1armor= 8
    Veteran Cuirassier - 500 - 0,2 armor= 24
    Veteran Lancer - 350 - 0,3 armor= 19

    Other

    Grenadier - 200 - 0,5 armor= 8
    Abus Gun - 130 - 0,5 armor= 10
    Minutemen - 200= 8

    looking at your post, johnn, i realised that cassadores are just as good at killing heavy infantry as jaegers, and most other things too. This is assuming your calcultions are correct. Wow. I never realised how extremely OP cassadores were. LOL jk, Little kittens can take more of a beating than cassadores.

    But cassadores are very strong units. They are like Jaegers (or maybe 90 year old jaegers who have arthritis and weak bones, but at least their rifles are strong!)

    AT first i hated cassadores more than skrims, but now i prefer cassadores. They are far better, as long as you keep melee and siege units FAR away from them!

    But u should remember that the crosbowman shoots fast than a musketeer, so they are better than they look like

    Nope, crossbowmen fire every 3 seconds, like most units. Longbowmen, and perhaps some indians fire every 1,5 seconds.

    The fact that cassadores kill heavy infantry with as many shots as jaegers is no suprise. They have an attack of 26, compared to jaegers 27. However they are not as effective as jaegers because of their rate of fire, which is one shot every 4,5 seconds.

    This is because the musketeer's hand attack is 2x faster than his range attack. It might be nicer to post the time it takes instead of the number of shots. That would also make the Cassadors look less OP.

    surely this is wrong? skirmishers shouldn't take more damage from Musketeers than they would skirmishers.....

    If I timed it, it would be of no use to people who micro their skirms or cassadores, but i guess I could add time, it's as easy as taking the # of shots and multiplying it by the rate of fire.

    Edit: I have decided not to add time, because it won't apply against melee units who run into your unit, or multiple units. Nobody actually cares anyway. We all know that cassadores have a slow fire rate.

    Besides, it's too hard. When doing cassadores, after you multiply # of shots by the 4.5 s. fire rate, you have to subtract 3.5 seconds from the jannisary, but only 2.25 seconds from the musketeer. It is very confusing.

    @ MyNameIsJarvis:
    Skirmishers get a bonus vs. heavy infantry, but otherwise have a lower attack than musketeers. That is why, since skirmishers are not heavy infantry, but light infantry, Musketeers can kill them in less shots. But it will take more than one musketeer to fire all of those shots because skirmishers will kill them quickly.

    Hmm, it takes 5 single shots to kill a musk? A group of 4 skirms with 1 volley kills 1 musketeer, doesn't it?

    NO. It takes 5 shots from a skirmisher to kill a musketeer. 4 skirms in one volley = 4 shots. 5 skirms in a volley will obviously work alot better.

    Remember that this is a colonial age skirm, and has no upgrades.

    The colonial age skirm numbers are for dutch players. I don't really want to do veteran skirms. But I can if you want me too.
