I just started playing non-treaty games. I put the free villager cards in there but should i stick the free resource crate cards or the ones making me gather resources faster? As the spanish i usually send my 3 and 2 free villagers (sorry - i think thats how many come) and then economic theory. I try to advance as fast as possible and then send the 5 and 4 free villagers.. After that i sent 2 cards to make me gather wood faster. Should i say screw the eco cards and stick crate cards in there?

No, certainly send the 3 villagers first. But, ATP is what I basically always send second as the Spanish because I'm doing a Fast Fortress. 2 vils is a pretty bad card, and sending three in Discovery is probably a mistake, even though I know the Spanish can frequently pull that off. I would recommend sending the ATP and nabbing 2 Trading Posts, maybe three if you got nice wood treasures. So, just send those two, and I almost always arrive in Fortress with a shipment ready. I ship the 700 gold, gather the 200, put the tower in my base if I expect a rush, or on a group of hunts if I don't expect a rush. Then, just gather the food, and age up.

Thank you for your reply.
Depending on which strategy im using, sometimes i do the economic theory, wood upgrades and archaic infantry and try to keep a steady attack going after the 6 minute mark. I hope my ally sends support troops down to keep the other opponent busy because all i have to do is keep flooding with pikeman to get the villgers in the town center and i can get the upperhand and cripple them...
I really need to focus on getting trading posts because i hardly ever do. I can only imagine how fast i can get shipments if i have 2 of them up with the bonus for being spanish as it is..
Sorry - but what is ATP?
I play frequently but im not used to the lingo used on this site nor do i have a good enough memory to remember all the card names - heh.
