I can't seem to tackle the Russian rush. I'm no pro, but I'm not a noob - I can hold my own. I usually play as the Otto's in rush games, building a forward rax, stable, or foundry as soon as I hit age 2. I've tried almost every combo of units I can think of - I know that my units are stronger, but they get out numbered so fast, it's hard to keep up. Help me out.

Depends on what the Russian does.
If he is massing strelets then you want crossbows, abus guns and cav. Strelets get a 2X bonus vs Janis, they get no bonus vs xbows. Cav owns strelets of course. If he builds a strelet/musketeer mix then you want an xbow/janis/cav mix plus abus guns, and you want the janis to close with the musketeers while the cav closes with the strelets. If you can't afford all of that, leave out the abus guns. Most smart Russian players use a strelet/musketeer mix so that cav can't have a cake walk on the strelets. In that case you have to have the Janis close with the musketeers to make them go hand to hand, then set the cav lose on the strelets. Have the xbows firing at the strelets at range the entire time.
Most important thing is to take the fight to the Russian and do that as quickly as possible. Hit the strelets as they are being created. RAID, RAID, then RAID some more.

agreed. however even the russian musks are enough to stop an otto from attacking with mostly hussars, the musks die also, but are much much much much cheaper...
