Hey folks. Just wondering how many of you regularly upgrade your TPs to stagecoaches and/or RR? I used to do it as soon as I could, but now I'm loathe to shell out the resources for the upgrades because everyone on the trade route benefits. Now I just collect my XP and focus on other elements of the game.

If you dominate the route go for it. If you are playing a TP strategy (IOR) then go for it. It is very useful because of being able to collect whatever you need.

Look at the map you are on and your numbers. Some maps you won't share ie. Texas. Others only if you have the advantage. Nothing better than Great Lakes with 5 of 6 TPs upgraded. The control of resources is excellent. No sending villagers across map to gather something new and you can gather the more time consuming wood and gold.

3 trading post travois: 600 wood in 1.02. Not worth it for an Age 2 card, imo. Send 700 wood instead, or ATP for the extra hit points and ranged attack. Heck, send both.
As for whether to upgrade, I only try to do so when I'm holding a 2 to 1 advantage in trading posts, and can spare the resources in the short term. The investment takes a few trips to start paying back, and if my opponents has a TP, I'm effectively feeding him free resources. That said, I'm a HUGE fan of getting lumber from my trade route, and try to do it anytime I'm able.

isn't 3 trading posts 750 wood? i've never used it because i play treaty, but in supremacy i'd've thought it would be a good card, as it saves you alot of time and would let you snatch far away TPs without your explorer or villagers going there.
