Played first game with Ports the other day. Built a few decks and decided I was going to give them a shot. I was playing a dutch player a couple ranks below me and was happy to see that he sat back and let me boom. I had map control and had walled him in pretty well. I had the econ advantage quite handily and was in industrial waiting to let the power of my hundred villager civ do its stuff. I had a 2-3 stables and 4 rax near front line hot keyed and began to attack with my FU industrial army of goons cannon and those silly little port skirms. I had always heard of the Dutch advantage of having 150 millitary pop space but never truly appreciated the advantage. I was fighting a battle at 3 of his millitary to 2 of mine. I quickly recognized that my decks didn't have the quick traing cards either and resigned in frustration. I suppose other civs deal with this as well but no one expects an otto, russian to get to max pop. How do you beat an army with 1/2 again more millitary? I have also seen port/brit players cap villager production at 80ish. If the ports/brits fished they would be at 115. 85 vs 150 is a tuff one to win.
