This strat is just a little bit tweaked from the usual build order.Lately I have been having fun with Brits.Im not saying its a badabing badabang strat but its ok
The British delayed semi-ff
The goal of this start is to age up to fortress age around 12 minutes with a sizable army and a decent economy to back up. Altho Brits are excellent at colonial warfare, sometimes it might be better to age up to fortress age a little faster to take advantage of better shipments and technology. The backside of this strat is that you are going to neglect the manor boom to achieve it.
DECK
Discovery age
Standard british discovery play here:
- 3 settlers on food crates,the rest start hearding the hunt towards tc.After the food crates has been collected have one settler collect the wood crates,the other 2 settlers go to hunt.
- build one manor or 2 if you were lucky and got 300 wood. Everybody on hunt
-First shipment is 3 vills
Age up with the Governor(1 tower+200 gold politician) at 3 minutes
Transition Discovery-Colonial age
-12settlers on wood and 5 on food
-Send 2 settlers a little bit forward(still connected with you main base
-Build 1 or 2 manors during transition.But remember that you need 200 wood asap in colonial age for your barracks
Spare your second shipment to Colonial age
Colonial age
NEW settler allocation: 11 on food, 5 on wood and 4 on gold.New settler allocation in a ratio of 3:1:2(we are going for a food-gold economy. Feel free to experiment tho )
-Collect gold crates and send your tower to the fb
-send 700 wood with your 2nd shipment, build some manors,one stable and a market
-build a barracks and que musketeers(as many as possible).Once you have 10 musketeers(at around 5:50-6:00) go and harass your opponent kill some settler and try to gain the upper hand .But back out immediately if you see him going for an aggressive approach.
-keep training musks
-third shipment 5 settlers or 6 muskets depending on the situation.If everything seems to go as planned go 5 settlers,but if you are being pushed go 6 musks
All exess wood goes to manors and ( market upgrades
The forth shipment should be 6 muskets now if send 5 settlers.You should have around 30 muskets (24 locally trained and 6 shipped).Go and pay a visit to your opponent.
-Fifth shipment : 4 vills
Now it should be around 10 min, you should have enough recources to age up.´
Transtion Colonial-Fortress age
-Sixth shipment musketeer /grenadier attack
build a artillery foundry
Either way is good as you should have a quite good economy by now(around 50 vills)
Fortress age
-You should have a nicely sized army by now with either Musk/Longbow or Musk/Hussar
-send 1000 gold next and train some falconets also upgrade your units to veteran status and go and attack your opponent.Keep sending new troops to the battlefield and put a little more settlers on wood for your second TC
