I was using the Germans the other day and I was versing this player using the French in FFA at Large Great Plains. I was attacking him and he just kept spamming Imperial Gendarmes. Then he pushed me back to my base and I just kept spamming "speedy" Imperial Doppelsoldners. I caused his eco to go down drastically and I also raided his town and killed half of his settlers with my fully upgraded Imperial Uhlans. I caused his points to go from 3000 points to 1300 points while mine jumped up from 3000 to 4100 points.
Afterwards he just hid in his walls. His only units then were Imperial Volteguirs, Imperial Dragoons, and Imperial Horse Cannons. I would break down the walls, but his villagers would keep rebuilding them super fast. I would use artillery and he would use Gendarmes and Dragoons to kill them. I tried attacking the other side of his base but he just moved his units to the other side because of his small base. I would switch to Imperial Needle Gunners and Culvereins but his Gendarmes wipe the floor with them even if I have Dopps guarding them. My units were basically being wiped out by his units behind his wall. While he was hiding behind his walls, his points began to shoot up again. I spent one hour trying to get into his base, but it was all for nothing and I quit after that. People may think I am a noob for quitting, but I do not like wasting time on one game. How do you beat a French turtler? (Sorry if this is an eyesore to read...)
