Many times people use the Ottomans for a straight up rush with no econ, and the whole game depends on whether or not this rush succeeds. In this strategy you have to kill the first wave of his rush, and then counter with a huge abus/jans army.
Overview:
When you rush, do you rush with cav or infantry? Infantry duh right? Well, what counters infantry? Skirmishers? Yes, they do, but they cant be received in Colonial by most civs and they die fast vs abus. So? You use Abus! In this rush, you first make abus guns and 5 jans to kill his first wave of musk/xbow/ext (any inf) using the 5 jans to make sure he dosen't get to close with cav or any mele inf. Then the enemy will be forced to switch over to cav (this will throw his econ off and make him spend 200 wood for stable and so he has less houses) Then you switch off to mass jans to counter the cav and win.

Discovery Age: Send all vills except two to hunting. Try to gather the food farthest from your tc, then later (so protected from cav) the near huntables. Gather wood first and have one vill make a house. Send your explorer to the nearest trade post and have him make one. (If this is a map like carolina where you got LOTS of wood, make two trade posts asap.) Depending on how much wood you have determines the force of the counter. (MAKE 2 TRADE POST MINIMUM BY MID COLONIAL) Normally you start out with about 400 wood. 100 to make a house leaves you with 300, then the tps cost 250 leaving you with 50 wood. (NAIL ALL WOOD TREASURES YOU SEE!) After the crates are gathered, send all those vills to hunt. When your first shipment arrives send 3 vills. Put those vills on food untill you have 800 food and age up with 400 wood. Now, you have about 11-12 vills have 4-5 vills on food, 2-3 on wood and the rest on gold. All the vills coming out of your tc go to gold now.
Colonial Age: Send a vill to gather the 400 wood from age up. Use 200 of this wood to research stagecoach on the trade posts. This leaves you with about 300 wood. Make an art foundation and keep gathering wood. Next make a house for your vills and abus. Start making abus guns. (DONT LET THE ENEMY SEE THE ART FOUNDATION OR HE WILL MASS CAV!) When you have stagecoach make it on wood. Then make a barracks. Make 5 jans from the barracks. Keep making abus. (Whenever needed make a house for the extra pop, so have at least 3-4 vills on wood)The second home city shipment will be 700 gold for abus. Your third home city shipment will be Advanced Arsenal. When Advanced Arsenal comes, research counter inf rifling (this doubles your abus damage vs inf giving you ABOUT 90 DAMAGE PER ABUS SHOT!!) Right about now he will rush you. Have your abus murder his army and keep chasing him and killing his inf. (If he was smart enough to send 3 hussars from his home city, have the jans in melee and kill them.) Now you send your third home shipment as 700 food. Now you should be low on gold. Have 4-5 vills on gold and send the rest to gather food. Try to make a second barracks to mass jans. Once you have a nice jans force (about 15-20) March on to his town center (take out his fb if you see it to) Keep feeding your force with jans and a few abus here and there to completely desolate his town. (Everyone resigns right about now because your score is so much higher [thank you abus]) And then the next step is to say GG just because it makes me feel better .
